for the effort of typing it all out

  • +6

thanks, it's nice to be in the know before you walk into the supermarket.

  • +7

Thanks, it's a great summary, beats looking through over a dozen pages of the catalog.

  • +1

Great summary, you've just saved me a lot of time as I only buy from Woolworths/Coles for specials like these.

Does anyone know if you can freeze Chorizo from the deli? Its so cheap but only seems to be good in the fridge for a few days.

I ask because I hear some things in the Deli are defrosted from frozen.

    • +1

I used to work Coles deli and the chorizos were fresh. I guess that means they are safe to freeze…although this was years ago

I DONT THINK THIS A BARGAIN SO THEREFORE IT ISNT A BARGAIN HOW DARE YOU POST STUFF THAT I DONT AGREE WITH MUMMY MAKE THEM STOP.

      • It's just his opinion. He doesnt think its a bargain.

        • +9

He trolls everything in OzBargain. He negs everything. He never has a good reason to do so. I'm just sick of it.

He's negging because he thinks everyone gets the flyer in their letterbox and therefore should know about the deal.

It's 50 per cent off a range of stuff. It's available Australia wide, and for most people, available around the corner from them. I don't get the flyers, for one, and I think 50 per cent off is a BARGAIN in anyone's language. If you don't think that's a bargain, tell us why not.

@Wampus: Watch out dude. I critised someone for neg'ing a similar bargain in the Coles thread last week and someone complained on the basis that I made a "personal attack".

It is a shame that people who "neg" a vote cannot be open to the same level of scrutiny and criticism as the deal itself.

Good effort by the original OP! It takes time to type out the deals - probably not the best use of time, but I appreciate the effort!

            • @apu:

Whoa! Big no! That is called an ad hominem attack. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ad_hominem
It doesn't matter if thomas1987 is a paedophile terrorist. Please stick to refuting his comments on this item.

He has a point that we don't want every letterbox catalogue posted here, but I do think this one is more worthy of mention than most.

As for all the typing … Surely jg3374 cut&pasted from the online catalogue. I hope!!

          • @Wampus: the problem is it's not australia wide and he also says "I assume this catalogue is Aus wide, but please check locally."

What's the point if you still need to double check the catalouge.

    • Perhaps singling out a particular bargain if there is one, and then link to a post in the forum that summarises the catalogue.

      Very clearly presented post, though.

    • +2

It is a bargain. 14 half price items. Better than a lot of other deals on this site.

    • +1
      1. Not everyone gets it in the mail.
      2. 14 items listed are half price. If you regularly buy any of those things then you would appreciate the poster for bringing to our attention.
      3. If none of the specials interest you, don't vote.
    • Only reason I agreed was due to the fact that supermarket bargains are quite uninteresting, stuff is on sale all the time at supermarkets, do you guys really change where you do your shopping based on the junk mail you get and the things that are posted on here?

      • Yes, if the junk mail isn't good, I don't even go to Coles/Woolworths.

  • +1

    Good effort, cheers.

  • Schick Razor Kits for that price?!
    SOLD!
    Gonna grab me one!

  • +3

Finding it totally bizarre how someone could neg this post… Top effort from the OP.

    thanx mate. great job.
    do not worry about negs.

    Great effort mate!!

Couldn't see the picture for the Schick Quattro Titanium Freestyle razors. How many in the pack, 6? $7.27 is a bargain.
    I bought a pack of 8 (6 + 2 bonus) a month ago, and i thought i paid $20 from coles, might have been $15, can't remember now.

Can't believe how much Coke costs these days. Nearly $4 normal price for a 2L bottle. Extortion. It's as if Coke are getting taxed by the government, like other legal drug prodcuts like cigs and booze.

I reckon it was only 5 years ago that i remember the 2L Pepsi was $1.89, and the Coke 2L was $2.24, at Coles.

Speaking of supermarket bargains, last i was at Coles, they had "Onion Shallots" (those little brown paper covered things, that look like a cross between a brown onion and a garlic clove) for ~$6.70/kg, usually $14.99/kg.

    • Schick Quattro Titanium Freestyle razors, Page 16 down the bottom.
Too small for me to confirm how many extra razors.

      Probably contains:
      * 1 x Razor with trimmer
      * 1 x cartridge
      * 1 x AAA Alkaline battery

      • Ohh oops, i thought that "Schick Razor Kits" was the razor cartridges refill pack, not the actual unit itself. Already got one obviously. Paid $12 about 2yrs ago.

  • Great Effort. Appreciate this. Thanks.

    jj3374 for PM!

Maybe when someone signs up with that username.

  • Thanks BigglezThePigglez but not in this lifetime lol…Julia Gillard can have that job all to herself :)

@samfisher: you can freeze the chorizo, I have successfully in the past from Woolies, great for Chorizo and Chicken Pasta! YUMMO :P

If you post the catalogue for Coles, Aldi, and all others in Australia, I'll give you a positive!

..and while you are there what is the price of Oranges this week?

    • Real intelligent.

  • Coco Pops are no bargain at $5.99 for 735g. Coles recently were offering two packs of Coco Pops 735g or Nutri-Grain 805g for $10. Coles were offering a deal $2 cheaper than Woolworths.

However, Coca Cola at $1.99 for 2 litre ($1 per litre)a fantastic deal from Woolworths. In recent times the best previous deal on Coca Cola was $1.11 per litre at Coles.

    • I agree, I can't remember coca cola being under $2 since the GST came in, how many years has that been now? Hopefully it will be a regular deal again!

  • Thanks.

  • Thanks (I was going to post one or two items but you've posted EVERYTHING). You're up to 88+s right now. :)

Quick review of Ltd Edition "Snickers Hazelnut Slab": very sweet compared to the normal Snickers; Don't get it unless you like your chocolate bars especially sweet. Not worth making a permanent product extension. :)

  • Some awesome deals here - I took some up yesterday. Nice post.

  • When Wollies or Coles put their prices down they aren't actually losing any money. The savings are coming straight from the suppliers and not the Supermarket.
