AliExpress 7th Anniversary Sale (From 28th March) e.g. Global Ver. Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 Pro SE 3GB/32GB from US$137.70 (~AU$179)

660

note: all prices in description are in US$$

Aliexpress are celebrating their 7th anniversary.

28 Mar,2017 00:00:00 PDT ~ 31 Mar,2017 00:00:00 PDT

or 6pm Sydney time 28/3/2017 ~ 6pm 31/3/2017

everyday they are releasing various coupons.

and a variety of different goods that are being reduced.

I just picked up 6 $2 off coupons. yah $2 off. I have a lot of items in my shopping cart.

I have noticed some things that are discounted for the sale have actually increased in price slightly. they should be cheapest when the sale is on, but…..

plus if you can reduce the price more with a coupon then it can be a nice score.

plus there is between 7 - 10% cash back with alibonus (I've bought a lot from aliexpress ~650+ orders, so I get 10% cash back. Alibonus now allows you to withdraw money to your paypal account. excellent! it only used to be russian banks, QIWI, and some other Russian institutions.

for example: I was looking at these black out sleeping masks last night when they were 61cents. they are now 69cents. but when the sale happens they will drop to 59cents plus alibonus of 10% and they are 53 cents.

obviously not huge savings but a significant % cheaper. just an example from the many inexpensive items that I have in my cart.

500ml beaker was $4.10 will be $3.82 for the sale. less alibonus cash back will be $3.44 delivered.

I want a 500ml beaker to drink coffee out of.

Global Version Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 Pro SE - 3GB / 32GB / 5.5" FHD / 16.0MP / B28 - was US$158.64 in the recent deal on 19/3/2017. It will be $154.99 during the sale aliexpress linky - then reduce it further with a possible $2 coupon and alibonus cash back (for me 10%) so theoretically it could be bought for as low as US$137.70 delivered

my procedure for finding the cheapest price.

  1. search for the item you want.
  2. list results from cheapest to unozbargain. (paying attention to shipping cost)
  3. open the 3 cheapest item listings.
  4. scroll down each item page and look at the "from other sellers". check to see it any of the same items from other sellers is cheaper, if so open that up.
  5. and again , scroll down the item page and look at the "from other sellers". check to see it any of the same items from other sellers is cheaper.

also check to see if the seller has their own coupons.
also check to see if the aliexpress app price is cheaper (sometimes it can be upto 10% cheaper)
also use any aliexpress (from aliexpress, not the seller) coupons are applicable.

don't forget cash back.

Aliexpress offers games leading up to big sales where you can win coins. the coins can then be exchanged for various coupons. The games can only be played on the mobile app. 100 coins will get you $1 off a $10 order , 300 coins will get you $3 off a $25 order, 800 coins will get you $8 off a $59 order.

You can also use these coins to buy coupons from various stores as well.

again, stack these coupons with possible seller coupons and definately alipay and buying via the mobile app and it can add up to a significant saving.

OTHER GOOD DEALS
Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 Pro 3GB/64GB 5.5inch MIUI 8 Smartphone US$161.03 via the app with regular post. LESS cashback via alibonus (up to 10%) = $16.10 off + $2 off coupon —> so potentially US$142.93 delivered

Hi Mods, Am I able to post a link here for my referral code which will give the user a US$5 coupon when downloading the app for the first time?

I want a 500ml beaker to drink coffee out of.

Might want to buy some asbestos gloves too

I have succesfully used flybuys to negotiate a deal with a chinese seller once.
I asked her if she accepted flybuys and she said yes.
So try your luck, i got ~10% off…

    All that effort…

  • if you use the $2 coupon dont you risk the 7-10% cashback as it may be rejected due to using coupon not listed on their website?

    • not with Alibonus.

Damn, thats a good price for the Redmi Note 3. I don't think I really need to say how good they are, if you're on Ozbargain you would probably know :)

    • I'm using a 64gb OnePlus one at the moment. Trying to work out if that phone would be a good upgrade or not.

      • It will be a sidegrade for the most part. The biggest change will be the big increase in battery life.

      • Don't, one plus is better, especially the camera. I have both and prefer the one plus still.

      • I agree with hybir, the only advantage would be the fingerprint scanner and the much better better.
I use a Redmi Note 3 as my daily driver, usually by the end of the day it's at 40%, usually will do a few hours of use (screen on) and is costantly connected to my Mi Band via bluetooth.

        have both.
        redmi feels better in hand
fingerprint depends on if you use it, works bloody well, i just didn't use it
doesn't have double tap to wake, which i used more than FP scanner

battery on redmi is insane. battery on oneplus is good, and i wouldn't upgrade just for that
camera on redmi is shit. read people talking about how it was servicable in good light, and poorish in bad. it's just crap.
i don't use my camera that much… at least I thought I didn't. really really notice how much more I was using it, as all the photos are crap.

speedwise, I think the redmi is a bit faster. there's speed comparisons on youtube. for me, the most that mattered was day to day use, and the redmi is faster (linageOS on both)

I have terrible mic quality though. it's average at best on the other end, and the mic just cuts out randomly. didn't really notice how bad it was, and thought it was just reception where i worked. but left myself a voicemail and it's shite. not that I'd expect you to have issues, but there's the whole warranty side of things - only just starting the RMA process with eglobal…

all that said above… I just ordered myself a le max 2. might be worth looking at. pretty cheap too, was $235 recently. got mine delivered for $274 from goldway on aliexpress.

        • How is the le brand in terms of software updates?
I think everyone says that xiaomi has regular security patches at least

          @TheOneWhoGotAway:

not sure mate, going to be installing lineageOS asap (the old cyanogenmod)
i never bother with stock ROMS
they're never better than what's available on XDA

    • Damn, I just bought one on Sunday

  • +3

list results from cheapest to unozbargain

You use these search terms too? high fives altomic

  • Thanks for all of the tips.
Just at the right time, I have a lot on my wish list too.

  • Tempting to get xiaomi 5s. Should buy it now or wait until mi6 release?

  • +1

Going to pick up the Yi 4K. The 4K+ will also be released at $299 USD but the 4K will be on sale for $186 USD so depends if the 4k+ is worth the price difference for you

    https://sale.aliexpress.com/__pc/new_xiaoyi.htm?spm=a2g01.82…

    • I'm also looking to pick up the 4K for upcoming trip to NZ. Is this the cheapest it has been?

      • cheapest I saw on OZB was $199 USD.

Although, with the 4k+ out we may see more of a price drop on the original 4K model

        • can always buy the XiaoMi Mi camera, run the superview script on it…

  • Has anyone looked into how we can use the $2 coupons?

I don't think it is that useful as the minimum spend depends on your seller.

    https://sale.aliexpress.com/__pc/select_coupon_introduction.…

The game coupons might be a bit better than seller select ones as they give flat ~10% off. Unless your seller has a really good deal…

  • Was wondering… could we do a group buy to reduce cost even further?

    • Yeah, I wish we organised by cities to express our interest, but $180-190 is pretty good already and may be easier than oganising bulk buy than may need to be 500-1000 units

  • not bad.

  • Gold only?

    • +1

Yes. I've looked for grey and black and had no luck

    • Some grey are US$30 more expensive, which is stupid when you can buy the grey cases for A$4

  • Thanks OP. Looking forward to it

Hi Just want to give you a heads up of a problem with the redmi note 3 with band 28. We bought three for a group of us, they all worked for a period then one has stopped charging correctly, we have updated the rom, tried fast charging apps. Putting on for 4-5 hours only gets to 67% then it gets stuck. This is a problem that other people seem to be having as well.

We have tried the original charger and cable, we have tried blitzwolf with gold plated tronsmart cables and a same with a 2.5A raspberry pi charger they all charge the other redmi note 3's much faster.
My phone is on charge right now and his has gone up 1% whilst mine has gone up 7% (mine is on his is off)

    http://en.miui.com/thread-205417-9-1.html

That being said I'm very happy with my phone except the fingerprint scanner doesn't work the first time you unlock the device and sometimes neither does the swipe pattern. You need to wait 5 minutes after it's turned on to unlock the device…. don't ask me why. But after that it's golden very fast finger print scanner and mine charges normally within 2ish? hours.

    • Has the phone been damaged by dropping or water? In any case, the situation is quite unpleasant for this owner. I don't know what to say because there may not be a warranty, or easy means for replacement or repair. But definitely appreciate the caution as a risk to take in deciding to buy the Note 3 Kate through Aliexpress or local shop

      • +1

No damage, screens fine. It wasn't charging at all before the software update so I think it's software related.

  • Anyone know if AMEX smartphone screen insurance is worth using on Aliexpress even if higher conversion rates and charges apply?

  • Has anyone got anything higher than a $2 coupon?

  • Thanks for posting this, there is a special edition one listed for 174$, it has some more frequencies, will they be helpful in australia? Is there another reliable phone in this budget?
    Thanks

  • Does anyone know how standard free shipping to Brisbane from Xiaomi official store goes? My phone was sent to Singapore (I think via Hong Kong) and redirected to Sydney (all this happened relatively quickly, 3-4 days). Then, from Sydney, almost 2 weeks has taken and I don't know how or why?? There were floods but largely don't affect the logistics route. If 2 days were taken to dispatch, and then another 2 days to get from China-Singapore-Sydney, why does there need to be 10 days to get from Sydney to Brisbane? Can't the bag be put on one of the many planes going between Sydney-Brisbane each day? Why is Australia post so incredibly inefficient and expensive? There's hardly a reason worth supporting AustPost, at least I can't imagine a reason.
