    • Yep, but this offer is valid for 4 more weeks.

      • True, you can buy these in advance though.

        Thanks for posting :)

    • Price match at Officeworks?

Half price is good, but can often find for $10 like this week starting today @ Coles and sometimes in Woolies also.

  • My local wooly has optus sim pack for half price.

  • If one already has 1 phone (post paid) what is the appeal of all these prepaid cards?

  • Can you use the initial $30 credit to pay for premium SMS?

I think you get $5 anything credit for this but that's all, check website if your feeling patient

I'm still going through my $10 for $1 at 7/11 cards (very slowly).

Dealing with Optus is a pain in the ass. Their idiotic app only lets you register 1 sim at a time and on Android you have to go back to phone accounts and delete it then verify an SMS to get usage for another account. On their web site it no longer shows how much credit remaining.

All the telcos suck but I'm going to take a break from Optus once I've used my cards.

Haha, I know what you mean. App can be annoying at times. I have just resigned to mostly using the 9999 txt to get balance and set daily data limits for my Prepaid Optus mobile hotspot phone using my $2/1 ( $10 prepaid starter sim packs ) on the $ days for data use.

Still well worth it for me juggling between various phones/wifi hotspots to add/stretch out portable mobile data as this is one of the cheapest ways to get extra data without locking into contracts. I still have over a dozen of these $10 sims left too :-)

  • Any idea about the expiry on these?

    • I bought some from my local Coles (Port Melbourne) before and they expire 01 Jan 2020

edit: Sorry I don't know about these I bought mine from Coles.

      • Thanks driverelli. One expiry is mentioned on the pack itself which obviously is far in future.
But last time I bought it (I think it was also from Coles) then the receipt had it mentioned that I have to activate the SIM within 30 days of purchase. That time I had to use it immediately so it didn't matter, but if we use these kind of deals to stack up then obviously its important to know.

  • I have Optus prepaid, can I buy these starter packs and use the recharge voucher for existing prepaid SIM?

    • No you cannot.
These do not come with a recharge voucher, they just come with a SIM preloaded with $30.

You can however port to another network (using a different sim), retaining your number.
Then porting to Optus (activating this sim, and choose "Keep your Existing number").
