@glennp: I read a comment somewhere saying the screen on the mini 3 is about triple the price to replace due to the fingerprint reader. Not that I'm planning to crack the screen but you never know.

Take your pick of colour. I honestly would rather pay $50 more for twice the capacity, brand new instead of a white box refurb with the fingerprint scanner. That is way worth the 50 bucks extra.

I bought the 16gb mini 2 refurb in November 2014 for $319. $20 discount after two and a half years. Wish I had Apple's business.

iPads in the US aren't cheap - depending on state you'll most likely pay sales tax over and above RRP sticker price
