Hoover Cordless Cleaner Package $399 (Save 68% on Normal Price $1147) @ Godfreys

170

Not sure if this is a pricing error, but I've definitely tried my luck.
You could buy all these products separately for a total of $1147 (with the main vacuum worth $699 on its own) or bizarrely, you can buy these as a package for $399 and save $748 / 68%.

Reviews are solid and the products seem to be built very well. 2yr warranty is as good as Dyson and the claimed 30min battery life beats all of the Dyson handsticks (V8 excepted).

Products included are:

I actually was keen on purchasing just the "Floormate" on its own, but given I could pick up the upright and handvac for only an extra $100, it seemed a no-brainer.

  • So you only get 1 LithiumLife battery that you need to share between them?

    • Looks like it is only the one battery if you click through each of the products, only the big vac comes with the battery.

Yes, I have to say I think someone is really doing the dodgy on Australian consumers with these products - first thing is Hoover ISN'T the same company that established that name and credibility many years back. The name was sold off a while back and so these aren't anything to do with that heritage etc.

A quick look at the USA products and every single one of them is meant to come with one battery - the main item actually comes with 2 batteries - so in total you'd normally get 4 batteries if you bought all 3 of these…..and it appears with these you only get the one - thats a BIG loss of value.

Finally USA products all have 5yrs warranty - these are 2 yrs - another Aussie tax.

The reviews are pretty variable - although the overall scores look ok-ish. Personally though I'd think one quality product is better than 3 very average ones…..looks a good deal on paper but no-one is paying those RRP prices EVER - which is a typical Godrey's sham. :-)

      • The Hoover brand (in Australia) belongs to Godfreys.

This is just Godfreys homebrand stuff.

    • Yeah, that's the impression I get. Seems easy enough to interchange the batteries though (snap in and out). Only downside would be charging times, I guess.

  • Nice find OP. It says the floormate is "skin only" but it doesn't say "skin" on the other 2 products, so hopefully that means 2x batteries.

EDIT: wait, no its says the handvac doesn't come with battery. so its one batter for the whole package. still a good deal tho I reckon. But brace yourselves for the dyson brigade.

It does say skin only for Floormate and Hand Vac. I think it only has 1 Lithium battery included

reason why its cheap is probably because they are crappy vacuums

    • Are you trying to say they suck?

  • Would be good if someone could compare this with the handheld dyson - even though the dyson doesn't have a long battery life it is more than enough for my two bedroom house - what I'd actually want to know is whether this product has superior suction/ability to pick up dirt, dust and debris, on wood and carpet.

    • Godfreys don't stock dyson and no one else stocks these so it's difficult to try them side by side without going to different stores.
Ask the rep in either store and they will say theirs is best because they don't stock the other.

Pretty comprehensive review of the main vacuum unit here:

Just from a quick read/look the Dyson is easier to handle/better attachments. The Dyson also has a fluffy head which picks up bigger stuff. The Hoover has a bigger dirt container as it is bigger. Also noted the Hoover hose is not very long.

With the handhelds I don't think anything really comes close to Dyson. (Other styles is a different story)

  • Hmm looks good, I'd be interested in the floormate too. So you have to detach the battery and plug it in to each component?

Does it work as well as a mop?

Godfreys= Well inflated price. Their tactics is very simple, advertised for some crap with ridiculous low price. Once you are in the door, they will try to sell over priced high end stuff

  • Still a good finding which worth an up thumb.

  • Do Godfreys own Hoover or something?

I went in to pick up a Miele from their latest deal and this guy was desperately trying to sell me a Hoover.
From $249 he instantly said he will do it for $199 but after looking at a few reviews online I stuck with the Miele.

      I think so.

From Wiki: The vacuum cleaner side of the business was sold to Godfreys.

So it is their home brand = biggest margin.

      • that explains it, thanks!

    • Which Miele did you get? I'm looking at getting a vacuum but unsure on which one.

      • C1, $199 but it ended today.
it was posted on ozbargain a few weeks ago

    • Think so, no harm in buying and trying and then returning to Bunnings if not.
