This will go well with the $200 smart hairbrush that tracks how you brush your hair and offers "helpful" pointers on hair brushing.

  • Luvafreebie, do you have one of these in your household?

    • @hirolol Not yet. I've taken a leap of faith and ordered one. Should be able to pick it up tomorrow.

      • What made you decide to buy this hair dryer?

        • +1

@hirolol My 3 daughters & I all have really thick hair & we are yet to find the perfect hair dryer. My current hair dryer cost $350 and lasted 4 years. If the Dyson lasts the same, I'll be happy. We have a Dyson vacuum and handheld and satisfied with both of them so at $420 (instead of $599) I'm willing to take a chance on the hair dryer.

@luvafreebie: There is a really neat teardown on Youtube by a (hobby) electrical engineer.

To keep the story short, there's probably a 50% markup on here, but there is legitimately a LOT more going on in there than a normal hair dryer.

the conclusion was that while its expensive thanks to the brand, it actually did warrant being more expensive than its competitors.

        • @MasterScythe:

          Skookum as frig!

My wife has a parlux. It's was $300 and is pretty good. Is this thing any better? It's bloody expensive.

  • IMO. It's still expensive for a hairdryer.

  • Lol

$499 for a dryer, has to do a great job blowing.

  • Got my wife's one for the same price. She loves it.

  • Same price at myer.

  • How much does this entertainmentbook thing cost?

tried this before, nothing a $50 hairdryer can't do. extremely disappointed.

  • Does this dry hair faster?

    Does it have Bluetooth?

  • Got this on the above special for the missus as an early b'day present, she reckons it dries her hair in half the time and is much more gentle on her hair at the same time compared to our old cheapie

A bit heavier than I was expecting too considering it's so small, significantly heavier than our old one.
