Nutri Ninja Pro (900W) for $79.20 @ JB Hi-Fi

650

Great price for this machine. Price dropped to 99 about 2 months ago (when I bought one), before that it was regularly 149.

Powerful motor that can blend nearly anything. Easy to clean 2-piece design popularised by the other brand 'Nutribullet', but this brand doesn't have the baggage of creepy alternative health conspirators. Doesn't have the fancy timers and pulse settings of other brands/models but IMO those are not necessary.

Edit: Looks like the price has changed at JB's website, but Good Guys currently still has it at $79! https://www.thegoodguys.com.au/ninja-nutri-ninja-pro-bl450nz

I have this and my brother has the IQ. Honestly if you have the time to stand there and blend your smoothie instead of pressing a button and walking away, get this one and save yourself the money. IQ is just some lame preprogrammed settings you can emulate yourself.

    • Hah I have the duo and agree completely. The auto mode goes for 45 seconds but it's so damn powerful (and loud!) that blending for 10 seconds is enough for any smoothie I've ever made.

    • Honestly if you have the time to stand there and blend your smoothie instead of pressing a button and walking away, get this one

      Haha, solid advice.

I didn't see the big deal in the IQ stuff, so I just bought a slim when it was on spesh

  • Thanks for posting

  • Purchased, cheers mate.

  • can i grind dried ginger to powder too?
wondering if this blender can do those kinda jobs too…
have phillips food processors but it is not powerful enough to grind dried food.

    • The manual doesn't mention dry foods. Looking at a few youtube videos it looks like it'll give it a good shot if you're careful not to overload the motor.

  • These are great. Really happy with mine. I do have to use it in the garage because it's so loud, but otherwise it does a great job.

  • Can it blend ice too? I noticed it's $119 for 1000watts.

  • The IQ model is $119.20 https://www.jbhifi.com.au/whitegoods-appliances/kitchen-appl… Is it the consensus that the posted model is the best buy for $79? I have no idea about these things and it would be gift, thanks!

+50% price for an extra cup, 10% more power, and some 'IQ' controls. Price-history-wise it's also a good deal, but I don't see a point to those automatic controls so I just stuck to the simpler one, but then again I havn't used them.

      • Agreed, IQ is just for people who think more $ is better. It's a bloody blender!

  • Serious question. Can this pulse nuts?

    • +2

The manual doesn't mention it. I've got mixed nuts and seeds I can test for you, if you tell me what to do/what you're looking for as a result.

      • I am looking to crush some unsalted peanuts per protein ball recipes etc
Would you be able to do this and let me know please?

        Thanks!

The moisture stuck it to the edges so I had to shake it around a few times. The result was a pretty fine mash of particles between 0.1mm and 2mm although a few (<5) whole peanuts remained. Check it:

        • @thtol: That is precisely what I wanted to know. Thank you VERY much for doing this; much appreciated!

Not really, tried making almond butter and it just stuck to the edges

      • Thanks! What about something not so smooth a consistency eg just chopping up peanuts?

  • Great blender if your into loud things

This could be bundled with QC35. I am surprised no retailers are doing that.

  • How does this compare with the Nurtibullet?

    • +1

At least as good. They're the same sort of thing so just compare Wattage and price between models. The blade in the ninja seems to be sturdier on the whole.

Exploding grenade potential recently showcased by channel7 re: bullet. Similar noisy sound effects afaik though to be fair. Pricing continue to plummet.
Hype fading while neither liquify the seeds of Blackberry, Raspberry or skin of Blueberry the goal perhaps for innovative blenders ahead.
Sticking to just a humble 300 watt that blend ice does the job doesn't leak while the technology will improve for a worthy ROI eventually. :|

Pointlessly overpowered and loud if the comments are any guide. Apparently making a smoothie in 10 seconds is the amazing feat that this machine and my $25 Sunbeam manage so it seems totally worth it.

You seem very negative Diji1, most of your comments are less than cheerful. R U OK?

  • Anyone know if the cups from the pro and auto iq fits on a nutri ninja slim?

I need a larger cup for my slim but don't wanna fork out for a new machine if i could just buy the large $15-20 cup.

  • Thanks OP bought and picked up just now. The one in the store still ticketed at $199 + 25% discount

  • Thanks for the heads up. Bought to keep at work so I don't have to keep carting the Nutribullet in. Could never justify buying a good one for work as there is always a chance of someone breaking it.

TheGoodGuys have this for $79 at the moment, presumably to price match, until April 20th. This is a great machine BTW.

  • Arrrghhh !
Just ordered a $50 gift card from Qantas store as they have 20% off atm.
But clicking on the link, it shows the price is back to $99 :O

Hopefully JB can price match GG

    • JB owns GG nowadays so you should be all good!
