  • Yes and no. From what I can remember from previous promotions, you have to sign up with payment details which automatically kick in if you forget to 'cancel' the service after the free DVD's. Personally I figure since I can rent DVD's for $0.50 each at my local Civic Video it's just not worth it. I'm sure it's a better deal for those in the bush etc though.

  • Need to send the dvds back + they receive it before you can cancel, else you have to pay the fee for 1 month (prices vary but thye sign you up to the 19.99 plan usually)

Just keep that in mind, send the dvds back early!

  • I had the same deal recently with Quickflix. I cancelled my subscription online 1 day before the end of trial period. As I was late sending back the last one I phoned Quickflix to let them know and the customer service lady said that they generally give you a two week 'grace' period to return after cancelling. I thought that this was pretty good of them. Wonder if Bigpond movies would be the same?

    • +1

Bigpond Movies definitely doesn't have a "grace period", the experience i had with them was ridiculous.
All of the dvd's they sent me were scratched, only one was mildly watchable, and then despite canceling a week before the trial ended and returning the dvd's, they still charged me for a month. The dvd's were at the warehouse, but had not been sorted, eventually got my money back though.

  • The previous trialpay offer ( http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/29964 ) was better than this one.

  • Great: 42,000 DVDS, 25 New releases!

  • I have been with both Bigpond Movies and Quickflix and I much preferred Bigpond Movies.

I found I received a lot more of the movies I wanted with Bigpond (in a quick period of time) and I found the site layout and content to be much better. Canceling also wasn't a problem with Bigpond Movies. Bigpond's selection is brilliant!

  • I have a Telstra T-Box which I can buy movies from. Anyone know of any promo codes for this? Sorry OP for hijacking your post a little :)
