  • Wow that Samsung TV looks cheap. Good price on USB drive and Wii+wii sport. Cheap phone.

    Great post!

  • Crazy Wii price!

  • didnt even know they closed down.. wonder if they will have a crazy game clearance like a couple months ago. brand new games for $5-$20..

    • I went there a few times during the shop renovations.

They didn't close down the shop per se, they just moved stock about as they refurbished one part of the store after the other.

    • 30% off games includes already discounted items.

  • Some nice prices there. The Blu-ray player (if not the cheapest) is a pretty decent price.

  • good price on the Wii…wonder if the other HV stores will match it?

  • They were closed for the CC renovation.

    Yay! Hardly Normal is reopening!
USB Drive on sale is this one:
    http://www.verbatim.com.au/en_AU/products/flash-media/usb-dr…
Fcuk I feel gipped by buying a $8.51 kingston 4gb online..
The kingston I got has 5mb/sec write, 10mb/sec read
The one on sale doesn't have the specs specified on the verbatim site..
But every other Verbatim USB has this D=
    Read Speed: 16MB/sec - 20MB/sec
    Write Speed: 9MB/sec - 10MB/sec

The Wii, the 4GB USB and the Motorola look very good.

The Samsung TV is good for an advertised price (but when I saw Wii $177, I was expecting some super hot deals) - RRP is $999. 25% off… as I said, good, but I wouldn't call it truly special.
The Panasonic bluray is a rubbish price - RRP $199, that's less than 6% off retail…

DV6-2111 looks good, but you should probably know that it's been discontinued, and I believe the model that replaced it has been discontinued too. But then, nothing much has really changed in that time anyway. Although I think the keyboard layout on the older DV6-2xxx is much better than the DV6-3xxx layout. I've been on the lookout for a new laptop, and to be honest nothing has really got me interested.

I'm not a big whitegoods/domestic appliances sort of person so not too sure about the Dyson, the DeLonghi and the Samsung microwave.

I'll vote this up purely on the Wii and the 4GB USB.

  • A plus vote from me for the Harvey "Normal"… and the $5 USB sticks.

Mildly off-topic, but there's a funny article about Nasty Hormones in the SMH re Gerry Harvey inexplicably getting his loveheart panties in a twist over Kogan's bum-end TVs etc.

Lolziest parts are the reader's forum comments below the article:

Plus on the Wii and Dyson price, I love my Dyson!

  • any wii left? i wanna go there tomorrow

  • kasumi168, any chance you can scan & upload the whole page showing the Wii? I rang our local Big W and they said they can match the price as long as I show the catalogue…just wanna make sure by showing them the entire page.

    • Better yet… Get rebel to beat it by 10%!!

      • Rebel told me they won't price match on consoles. See their terms and conditions

    • I'll have to photoshop to get the entire page as my scanner/printer does A4 size only. Keep watching this post for the scan later today

  • Just call before you go (9419 1100) - I checked whether the USB drive is in stock and they said it is coming this afternoon (wed 25 Aug ) - saved my trip and I will call again before going.
By the way the Samsung TV is plasma not LCD or LED

    • There's none left for USB sticks mate. Noone knows when they are coming. I asked 2 sales, one says tmr another not sure

  • Anyone know if there's any more Wiis at Chatswood Chase? Wanna pick up today. Do you need to call or reserve to check?

  • Just got the Wii for $159.30 from Rebel Sport (Highpoint)… Wasn't a problem at all.

  • Tried Rebel in Westfield Parra, but no luck.

Picked up a black one from HV Auburn for $177. :)

  • Has anyone had any luck price matching any of these items in SA?

  • called my local rebel (wollongong), they won't beat this price and said they were told not to. Didn't haggle further and will wait for a cheaper one.

  • Just popped by there less than an hour ago. Plenty of Wii consoles on display, no more Motorolas, supposedly sold out, but they have some Nokia ones for $59 a pop.

    • I bought Nokia 1661 $19 instead of $59 today evening.

  • All $5 usbs ran out, said there will more stock coming but dunno when. still some Wiis left, not a lot of ppl after that thou.

  • The dyson has been available under 400 at many places for a long time. We recently picked up the upright version and are very impressed, but its not a one off bargain.

  • how many 50 pack DVD+R's are left at chatswood chase?

    • More than you can buy, they keep opening new boxes.

  • Any more news on the USB Sticks? They got none in store today (25th Agu Wed) up until 5pm. Please give us an update for those who been around in the evening

  • Just grabbed 3 4GB sticks :) They have a whole basket full, I'd say several hundred

  • USB sticks are back. Won't be surprised if they sell out again. Still a fair bit in the basket. About 5 or 6 Nokias left.
    40% off notebook bags.
25% off storage devices and networking gear.

  • Just picked up Wii Sports from Rebel Sports store with 10% less HN price. Fantastic! Bad news they mentioned its the last one in that store.

  • Wii already sold out….but they put the Xbox 360 instead at the same price….and there are a bunch of USB sticks left at the door….

  • Nokia 1661 sold out. Any clue will they open another box?

    • May be they will put another model like after they sold out Motorola. Let see tomorrow or tonight.

  • usbs still there grabbed a couple then

  • Just tried those USB keys, speed isn't great can't expect much for $5 ;) anyone got price matched elsewhere for the Wii?

  • As at 3pm today (26/08/10), there was approx. several hundreds 4GB USB left, but the basket is fairly low. I purchased 5. No Nokia phone left nor Wii.

  • called @ 10:30am today, had 14 nokia's in stock, went to buy one @ 12:30pm and was told they sold out

    =(

  • I bought the Xbox Arcade 360 for AU177…not sure it is a good price…

  • USB sticks are sold out, they're giving out vouchers for when they have more stock if you ask.

  • Vouchers for the same price ? or just a general discount.

    • Same price, 4GB flash drive $5, limit 5 per customer.
