Unfortunately, this promotional offer is by invitation only.

  • +10

I didn't get an email about this, but it worked for me :)

    • How did you know it work? Have you sold already?

I clicked on the link and it said by invitation only.

      • +1

Because it says, "You've accepted the offer "List & Sell 10 Items for $1" even though I didn't get an email as well. It also comes up in may promotions list

  • +1

    Two of the main exclusions:

    • This promotion does not apply to listings in the following excluded categories: Businesses for Sale (11759), Aircrafts (63676), Boats (26429), Caravans/Motorhomes (32633), Cars (29690), Motorcycles (32073), Trucks/Commercial Vehicles (6049), Real Estate (10542), Services (316), Flights (3253), Tickets (1305), Travel (3252) and Vouchers/Gift Certificates (172008).

    • The promotion only applies to single quantity listings and listings in one category. If you add an additional category to your listings, Insertion Fees (and other applicable fees) will apply for the additional category.

Damn, wanted to sell my United Airlines flight ticket…

      • +2

Yep, "overbooking" may be the least of their worries now.

I wish this would have included items on ebay that are currently listed for auction but have not ended.

  • Is this for everyone?

    • -1

      targetted

      • always worth trying but i didnt receive the email…just clicked the OP's link and activated the promo in my account..

  • I found mine under : Promotional Offers in the sellers page.

  • +11

    No insertion fees ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

    • +3

      Giggity

  • -7

Doesn't work for me. Invitation only. Sorry but i fail to see how this affects more than a handful of people actually included (who read this post) to classify it as a 'good deal'? I fail to see the point in posting this to the masses if it affects 10 people…

    • +2

worked for me, wouldn't have known without this post.

    • -3

I fail to see your point

    • -2

Would you say the same about this deal as well then?

That deal got 45 votes and also was simply just for mobile phones..

  • Ebay is a terrible place to sell.

    • +4

      Better than gumtree

    • +4

It can get you top dollar for particular items if you make a good listing.

    • Sometimes it is a necessary evil to attract certain buyers and a far-reaching audience.

  • Worked for me. I'm currently selling a phone (will get $800+), would it be a dick move for me to cancel the auction and repost?

    • +2

No, the right thing to do would be to give an unethical company like ebay $80 of your money for nothing when you don't need to.

      ?

  • I presume this is targeted at people who rarely ever sell to tempt them back into it.

Sucks for me as I have about $1000 worth of auctions running and don't get this.

    • Nope, I've sold over $2000 of stuff over the last 6 months and this worked for me.

    • +2

I rarely ever sell. Clicked the link and it said invitation only.

  • +5

    No treasures here

    • +1

"Pirates spent their whole lives looking for buried treasure, when the real treasure was in the friendships they made along the way." - anon

  • Cheers OP

I can't wait for Amazon to come and destroy eBay. [profanity] those bastards..

    • How long is Amazon gonna take? I've been hearing it for awhile now

      • +1

I think they were aiming to be here for the new FY.

    • Amazon will work better for consumers, who regularly buy (mostly new items) through eBay.

However, if more people flock to Amazon, then there's less people on eBay,
therefore less of a marketplace for selling second-hand items.

I wouldn't like to sell through Amazon, my second-hand cameras, blankets, etc…
when it could take many times longer, because there's traffic on eBay in the future.

  • Anyone worked out the secret to snagging these targeted offers? I have multiple old accounts and NEVER get any of them, is it just new accounts or whats the deal?

    • Id say it works on a few accounts, so its not really a deal.

  • +1

Don't forget PayPal fees of 2.4%+30cents

  • Didn't work for me :-(

  • So … no time limit on the next 10?

    • Ends 23 April 2017 at 11:59pm AEST

  • +1

Why don't I ever get these offers??

  • Combine with this deal for people who got that too (TARGETED):

    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/302032

We can finally get that voucher to spend.

  • sadly "Unfortunately, this promotional offer is by invitation only. " just when i have a some expensive stuff to sell

  • Yes!
    It worked, thanks OP
You've accepted the offer "List & Sell 10 Items for $1"

  • -6

    I have my own ebay seller account and can't use this? Sorry i don't see how its a deal unless you are one of the 'chosen ebay children?;

    • It's almost like there should be a big blue box saying 'TARGETED' on the post.

  • +2

    it worked for me too!
i didnt get the email but if you go to your All selling section and check on bottom the page, promotional offers, you can activate there.
    thanks OP!

    • it's still not for everyone,
because i checked the 'Promotional Offers' section too.

  • thanks OP !

This 'deal' has been voted down twice and they magically disappear. Good job admins!

  • +3

    5 accounts, no luck!

  • So does this deal work if we end an item and relist it during the dates?

  • All these targeted eBay promotions make BB go something something :-(

  • +1

They make up for it by forcing you to use PayPal, and their exorbitant fees.

  • +1

Good time to sell a couple of phones

  • They never include cars.
What would happen if you listed say, a vehicle under several popular catagories like mobile phones, computers or dating. (black helicopters?)
The item would get exposure, and possible fees only $1. Bargain.

  • damn, and I just wracked up $100 of seller fees by selling a measly 2 items.

  • If I list on 23 April and auction finishes after 23 April, does that count? Or do I have to finish the auction by 23 April?

    • Just List before the promo expiry date to be eligible (regardless of when the item ends)

  • +1

+100 up votes for an eBay deal that actually saved me money :)

I got onto this deal through the wife's eBay account - sold $2000 worth of stuff, very happy not to give 10% of that to eBay

Now browsing ozb to see what I should spend it on ;)

pro tip: create multiple ebay accounts to try and catch more targeted deals! (and get that $10 free voucher for new accounts through the other ebay deal)

    • Yet you didn't actually +1 this deal hmm…

      • LOL ^

After reading the fine print on this offer ("Learn more" when clicking OPs link) which says that you will "be entitled to participate if you register by clicking "Activate offer" in your email invitation, accept the terms and conditions and receive confirmation from eBay that you've accepted the offer", I went hunting for communication preferences in my eBay account (thinking my lack of receiving confirmation might void my eligibility) and found a likely explanation for all those puzzled as to why they never receive these offers -

Account Tab > Communication Preferences > Promotions and Surveys (at the end) > the second check box to subscribe to General Email Promotions.

My lack of subscription to these notifications did prevent me hearing about this offer from eBay and of course the confirmation I had accepted, however the offer does show as active on my selling page.
