Ozito Power X Circular Saw 18V (Skin Only) $69.89 (Was $99) @ Bunnings

110

I asked in a comment thread if it would be worth picking up a cordless circular saw if Bunnings do their typical Aldi price matching - looks like it's on:

If you're like me and don't have any existing Ozito Power X gear it's a trickier proposition perhaps, as the kit with charger and battery looks unchanged at $129. So I'm personally still on the fence (would be great if I could easily adapt my excess AEG batteries).

FYI this existing price is the same as buying the Aldi pieces separately to form a kit

But might be an appealing deal for anyone already in the Ozito 18V battery system wanting to add more cordless options to their collection.

22/04/2017 - kit version spotted with Clearance sticker at Brunswick (Vic) store for $99 but only a couple left

  • So it's the skin only?

    • Yeah just the skin. Sadly just the usual matching rather than beating the price since the overall kit price matches already. Added to title. Thanks!

  • I have the same circular saw. It is a little on the small side i think 150mm blade from memory whilst the ryobi is larger. If i had my time again i think i would go the Ryobi range as they seem to have alot more products in the range as opposed to the ozito.

    • could just take it back to bunnings and argue this thing is piss weak and does not serve it's purpose.

        • and your name is scab fro a reason

  • I've been eyeing the kit for $129 for awhile. Warranty is excellent but keep in mind this model uses a non standard or at least not common sized blade. Even my local bunnings don't stock replacement blades and they are special order.

Keen to hear if anyone can suggest a better deal for a cordless circular saw kit

    • i agree the non standard blade is a pain. The ryobi is 165mm

    • I bought my Ozito Mitre Saw and Table Saw on the basis I use it till it breaks and either get it replaced on warranty if it's within the period or I just buy another one - replacement blade probably almost the cost of the original tool! (because we buy the tools while on special ofcourse lol)

Looking at the specs it has a 10mm bore.

I found three blades on Ebay $33.20 delivered with a 10mm bore rings.

  • The Aldi cordless saw performs well. I used it to build a two story addition. I confess I removed the blade guard as it often locked against the wood. I also ground off some of the aluminium housing so I could see the blade starting the cut precisely on the pencil line. I have also used a bigger blade but find it smoother with the smaller blade. Mine has developed a bit of a lateral wobble in the hinge link. The charger is efficiently quick and I use one battery for four tools.
They sold very slowly at my local Aldi and eventually they discounted the remainders by 25% so I bought another.

  • Is the motor really on the left? or is this a mirror image? If it is on the left (like most plug in circular saws) that's a BIG plus.

Looks like they might be trying to convince people to buy the kit? Other tools in the range discounted to $49

Incase it changes, the site has: Impact Driver, Recip. saw, Angle Grinder, Radio, Hammer drill, Hand vac.

    • Good pick up. zzz i keep buying more and more fml

  • Is there a way to check the previous price for the radio and hand vac? i want to see if there is an actual discount for those items thank you

  • Popped in for a look today to check out the specials without really being convinced to buy it, but this store marked down the circular saw kit from $129 to just $99! (convinced me…)

    • Which store? Could you upload the receipt?

      • +1

Brunswick, Vic. It was marked as clearance with 3 boxes left (well then 2), and scanned at the original $129.
Funnily enough got home just before and taking the receipt out after I slipped it into the box it is completely blank! Going to pop into my local one tomorrow to fix it up hopefully something that can be easily looked up.

        • Thanks mate. Best of luck with sorting out the receipt.

        • Oh yeah, that's one good looking BBQ pit receipt.
Why doesn't mine look like that!
