  • One small problem

"Google Voice is not available in your country.
Thanks for visiting Google Voice. We're not yet open for users outside the US, but are planning to expand our service to additional countries in the future. "

    • Not sure what you are doing? But it works for me :D Just called a maccas in america, and they were closed (got the machine).. So thanks :D +1

      • Hoping they do home delivery?

      • I get the same error message :(
Do you have a direct link, you must be using a US IP address or something.

    • If you dont have a gmail account you will probably get this message (GV not …)

      https://www.google.com/voice/b/0/rates

Note the https not http so its a secure link and that indicates the probable need to be signed in to gmail.

  • indeed, small problem :)
out of topic, but is skype really will become un-free soon?

        • muzzamo - look on the homepage "is free and always will be". Think before you post please.

  • that's strange..i was able make a call to US from google talk in gmail just a few minutes back

  • Great!!! I can now call Bill anytime my Windows stuffs up!

    • -2

You know he doesn't work there anymore, right?

You are the classic Windows person!

there you go, an authentic page from google…

    • The key word there is in

"Call anywhere in the US and Canada for free and get low rates for other countries with…"

This doesn't match the deal title. I'm sure there are work arounds, but you are supposed to be in us/can for this to work. Therefore no bargain/freebie here.

      • I dont get it? Are you joking or being serious

        • They are saying that this might only be applicable to people who live in the US and Canada.

That statement doesn't really suggest this as that is saying you can call anyone in the US and Canada for free, not anyone in the US and Canada can call for free (to the US and Canada).

I would think given it is Google, that calling from anywhere in the world to the US and Canada would be free but there's nothing to confirm this so maybe not.

          • @TheWiz: Ok well it looks like it does work worldwide. It could have been worded better.

  • You may need a google account to view the rates otherwise you will get the "GV not available" message

  • So even with a gmail account, will it be free to call US from AUS or not?

  • hahahaha prank calls are fun!

  • +1

Guys…go to gmail settings and change the language to ,' English ( US) and save changes. Come back to gmail and in the chat window u will get a call option..enjoy
