Please tell us more about the $20/bottle RRP. Maybe an example of a single store selling it (at $20.00 or otherwise)?

My understanding is that GMH is just another cheap wine marque sold, almost exclusively, through "discounters" like Cracker, VinoMofo, Cellar Masters et al

    • Nicks has the 2015… For about $14/btl.. so while $20/btl might be RRP I don't know how many people would have bought it at that price.. https://www.nicks.com.au/2015-geoff-hardy-gmh-pinot-noir

      • Yes, you're right, great supporters at Nick's. They do have the 2015 listed at $13.99 and have it marked as sold out. Cheers RD

        • Yeah. But as OzDJ_ said, we haven't really seen any evidence for it being sold at$20/btl, just being discounted from the supposed RRP

        • <$10/btl for a single vineyard Pinot Noir with free delivery. Even against Nick's $14 that's still a good deal….

It does retail at $20/btl on our own website of course and we're happy to discount back to a whoelsale price (as is here) for full carton sales.

GMH label is the first-line range from Wines by Geoff Hardy.

You seem to misunderstand the nature of its distribution. It is distributed domestically through us directly, independent liquor stores and online retailers. The wines are also distributed widely overseas including Canada, Hong Kong, Malaysia and China.

The 2015 GMH Pinot Noir is currently being served in the Combined Business Class Lounge at Mumbai Airport and the GMH Cabernet Sauvignon recently served onboard Virgin Australia Business Class.

The wines can be from a single vineyard (in the case of the Pinot Noir, the Adelaide Hills from the Pinot Noir that we deem not to make the grade for our $45/btl K1 by Geoff Hardy Pinot Noir).

Third party reviews for the range see them awarded scores in the 90s and often receive Gold and Double Gold Medals from major wine shows.

You're right the range is inexpensive compared to other wines in our family's portfolio.

      • Gold and Double Gold Medals from major wine shows.

Surely you must know these "awards" are meaningless and pretty much every entry wins some sort of award?

  • Gmh isn't worth $5. Sorry :(

      No need to apologise.

He's probably just drunk and emotional.

I'm not sure all this skepticism is warranted. GMH Red Meritage 2013 was an excellent wine - one of the bargains of the year.

    • Thanks for the kind comment on the Red Meritage.

One of the great things about wine is its subjectivity and the debate it can stir. Each ot their own. Glad you enjoyed the Red Meritage! Cheers! RD

I've bought 4 cases recently, 3 are very good, ranging from $6-$16/btl, well worth it. The other one is the 2015 Durif isn't bad, may still needs time.
It depends on what you buy and whether you like it or not.
In my book, a wine or anything you like/need bought for lower prices than most is a good buy. of course if you buy a $80 wine for $8, that's real bargain, but hey, how often you get that?!
what's the price make you pull the trigger? it's up to you.

      • Hi James. Thanks for the kind words. Delivering great value wines with a damn good price/quality ration is what we're seeking to do. You're right about the Durif, it will certainly reward some cellaring over the next 3 to 8 years. Thanks for supporting small, family winemakers. Cheers! Richard

My friends and I have bought several dozens of the GMH range and all have been excellent wines for the price. This is a great deal. Thanks for posting. I have already sent my order in!

    • Thanks Bruce for the support of our family's wines. Much appreciated. Richard :-)

    • Yes, we do move the sale pricing around a bit to regulate demand once products start selling out. Still cheap.
