Confirming it's $5 credit. Just used it now at a local kiosk ($4 per movie, charged $3)
With the powers of the internet and how you use it, do people actually still rent movies these days? (serious question)
Haven't rented a movie for over 10 years. Are these kiosks actually any good, since I actually have one local enough to perhaps try it out.
I find them great, I don't stream or download movies. Great for kids movies especially. Machine is about a 5 min bike ride away or we are often there by car for local shop. I love the extras on some DVDs, not sure if you get that through streaming? Mostly, I am always popular with the kids when these codes are shared here!
Not everyone has internet
Internet providers generally still charge more to rent a movie than it does to get the physical disc. Especially when every other disc is free (keep it coming ozbargain).
Additionally, although I am supposedly on the NBN (under the 'already provided' banner), my monopoly provider that I am stuck with does not offer decent quotas.
For me, these kiosks are super convenient as I have 3 local ones to choose from, and you can pick/drop to different kiosks (same brand of course). I used to use quickflix (via mail), but got tired of waiting for the new releases, and the postal system got slower.

So at ours, which charges $3, it will cost just $1 for 2 DVD's…
