      Eh?

Two gigla bytes is no no. Yes

        • Agreed.

        • 4GB on this card would be wasted, it isn't fast enough to make effective use of 4GB. It is a budget card, at a budget price of $119. For someone who wants to play the latest games at medium to high graphical settings at 1080p, this card is at a great price.

Considering your two posts, I don't expect you to understand this and unless you are using 2 x 1080 Ti, your setup isn't fast enough for some.

    worse than hd7870.

which can be had for $30-50 used.

I'm building a PC for a mates kid who wants a PS4 but they can't afford it. He's a cluey kid so I want to bring him into the master race. Using a GT620 at the moment but it's not really good enough. Where can I find an decent old card that cheap? Scoured Ebay and can't find any deals like that you mentioned. Where do I look for a decent card under $50? If anyone has something gathering dust they want to get rid of let me know.

    • ill be getting one though. it has 4k for my htpc

    • Does the hd7870 have HDMI2?

I'm happy with my GT720, which works perfectly paired with my 1080p TV, but most of the current budget cards won't support 4k60Hz.

      • Um why don't you point out a single card that doesn't support 4K60 because I can't think of one.

    like Nvidia gtx 460, meh

  • I'm very pleased with mine. I got mine the last time they were this price. Its almost silent and lets me play my fav games Dirt Rally, Automobilista, Stock Car Extreme on max settings. Great value, imo.

  • Can i run two of these in 1 PC for dual screen setup?

    Thanks

    • Why do you need 2 cards for dual screen…? There's multiple outputs on the card.. It'd be cheaper to get a better card than crossfire.

  • Worth the upgrade from a HD6850/6870?

    • -1

A definite no. In terms of raw performance there is very little between them, RX 460 does offer new technologies but they wouldn't be worth the upgrade.

You'd want RX 470 or GTX 1050Ti and higher for any significant improvement. 7950s can be had off Gumtree for sub $100 for better performance.

RX 460 is the slowest card AMD are offering, good for budget builds only. If you do buy a second hand 7950, replace the thermal paste yourself, as an old card, the thermal paste has probably dried a bit and cause it to overheat

    • According to this site the the 460 leaves the 6870 for dead.

      http://gpu.userbenchmark.com/Compare/AMD-RX-460-vs-AMD-HD-68…

  • Is this good for my budget build?

    • CSGO and League are not very demanding. The RX460 will smash those games easily.

    • Looks great, 1050 is better than RX 460, but as mentioned, it'll still smash those two games so if you wanted to save a few $$$ RX 460 could be a viable option.

  • much of an upgrade for an r7-370?
