    • Officeworks linky?

  • am getting a "This code can't be applied to your order." error? Something I'm doing wrong?

and using exact same email address for both the ebay acct and PP account?
        Was an issue sometimes

    • keep us updated…Im interested in one as well…

anyone manage to get one at this price?

  • Bought one similar to the above from this seller on ebay.
    http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Professional-Ergonomic-Extra-Heav…

RRP $297 at officeworks, got it for $205 best offer :)
    Very happy with quality.
Too bad they dont deliver, had to pick up.

  • Did anyone ever work out what happened to the version with arms?

    • +1

I didn't realise they got rid of the arms until you pointed it out just then lol

      • +1

All the latest offers have no arms. I've been waiting for one that comes with arms too.

        • Love mine with the arms :)

        • +1

Same - my wife has decided she likes my one with the arms so wanted me to keep an eye out for another deal. Maybe she can just inherit mine and I'll get myself a gaming chair…

I contacted Staples regarding this and was informed you can order the version with arms over the phone or in-store. Just not online and I was not given a reason why.

      • +1

Well obviously they can't sell arms over the internet. Goodness me, which country do you think this is? The US of A?
This country has laws on who can sell and buy weapons.

      • Is it the same price?

      • You wouldn't be able to get the discount though would you? Considering this is an ebay code?

        • +1

I gave up when I spoke to them as I did not think they would honour the code over the phone. I was chasing another for what I paid last time $239.20 with the aluminium base and arms. https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/255325

Anything can be bought for a high enough price. I think the purpose of the site is to find products at good prices, so it's implicit that the question was about good prices for these chairs including arms. Nearly double the price with arms doesn't especially seem like a bargain.

        • Please refer to what aragornelessar originally asked, I was just answering their question, not saying that the links I supplied were a better deal than the current.

      • +1

If you're willing to Google and pay $384 instead of the $239.20 I previously got the arm model for, then be my guest. I'm here for bargains.

What are you talking about? That was a reply to the question you had asked, get a clue mate.

    Thanks OP.

Any one can please recommend the hard floor chair mat for putting under this chair to protect the hard floor? Thank you.

    • +1

No, but I can make an anti-recommendation, especially on carpets. I bought one from eBay described as "1200x900mm Hard Floor Office Computer Work Chair Mat Vinyl Protector PP Mat New", and it curls up terribly on carpets! It also did not specify the thickness, but it looks like 2 or 3 mm. So I would suggest thicker is better (e.g. 5 mm). Carpet is a more difficult surface, but I imagine bunching/curling could still happen on any surface, so I would still go thicker even on hard surfaces.

Also another anti-recommendation: before the current carpet our old place had hard floors, and I used a large old carpet off-cut. That mostly worked okay, but it kept spinning slowly, and edges would catch on the robotic vacuum and fray. So you want a strong edge, and something that will grip the floor and not spin.

Good luck, because I still haven't found a really good solution to this, on either carpet or floor boards!

Edit: even the ones that are 5 mm on eBay with spikes are spinning/moving/indenting on carpet, according to user reviews: https://www.ebay.com.au/urw/Carpet-Floor-Office-Computer-Wor… ; maybe eBay is just no good for this product? Or perhaps the product (vinyl mats for wheeled office chairs, especially on carpet) is just no good?

  • I've got the one with arms. It is very comfortable, but extremely loud. It creaks and pops when you shift your weight. So loud that it wakes others sleeping. Thinking of returning it to Staples.

    • Sure the problem isn't your weight mate? =p

      • +1

It happens for everyone who uses the chair. Heavyweights like me, or lightweights like my daughter. :)

  • I've heard the aluminium base has a better cushion to the nylon base.
Can anyone attest to the comfort of the black nylon base/exact model listed (without arms)?
I've only seen positive reviews for the metro with aluminium base and/or arms!

  • Welcome back Hamza!

  • The buro metro 2 is available for $295 for those interested. Its got depth adjustable seat slide in addition to all the features of the metro.

    • 295… after the code :(

    • thanks a lot /b/! its your fault I bought this!!!!

  • Perhaps at tax-time there may be some available with arms - or am I just dreamin'?

    (I need a new chair!)

  • Delivered inside 48 hours of ordering.

I must admit I felt a bit helpless with the poor instructions and trying to work out which way the steel metal plate goes. But that could just be me not wanting to have it wrong for the life of the chair :-\

    • Man I ordered mine Tuesday, it still hasn't even shipped!!! Very poor form!

      • It feels like staples ordering system and ebay aren't well connected. I think someone is manually rekeying everything and then clicking 'it's shipped'. Unless you are far from your local staples, perhaps giving them a call on Monday would be a good idea.

        • Was about to call, checked where it was at and noticed it was finally shipped today (Monday) … this is what really annoys me, almost one week to ship…should have shipped (Wednesday excellent, Thursday - expected, Friday OK i guess, Monday - poor form!)

if its hopefully should be here later today or tomorrow… was planning on working from home tomorrow so would be an excellent chance to have it all sorted!

        • @wisc:

finally arrived today… I guess that's not too bad under a week.
