$10 Free Credit on Sign up to Burger Project App (Credit Card/PayPal Req) [VIC, NSW, QLD]

2861

Burger Project, Rockpool/Neil Perry's burger chain, has just released their app where you can pay for your order & collect/redeem points in-app. To celebrate they are offering the first 5000 people, $10 credit. Burgers start at $9.50 and are reasonably priced compared to other gourmet burger chains. I've had the burger and the meat has a unique gamey flavour. Fries, milkshakes are very good. They are also offering $2 soft serve ice cream. Menu

It's made by the same people as the Gelato Messina app and uses the Aston Club as their payment processor. It was a bit buggy and got some weird message to add payment from the side menu. I added my Paypal account to the app using the side menu and was able to redeem the $10 of credit.

Android - iOS

Note: The credit expires after 1 month.

Locations in QLD, NSW and VIC.

  • Thanks op

  • Good find OP - downloaded the app, added CC details and voila! $10 of credit on the app ready to go. I'm about a block from the Martin Place store (been there a couple of times after a few beers in the area) so very happy to get myself a subsidised lunch

  • Will 2% Amex surcharge apply if using PayPal?

    • Don't think so

No surcharge if your Amex is via PayPal ;)

      Hi Andrew,

Just in-store payments at this stage mate! You'll earn 10pts per for every $1 spent. We'll be adding an Order Ahead option in the next couple weeks.

Any more questions, just contact [email protected] & I'll help you out!

      Cheers,
      Ben

      • Hey Ben,

Can you clarify what this magical $1 charge is?

        • Sure can :)

The $1 is simply a validity check on the card. This charge will be automatically reversed within a day or so. When you;'re using our app, you'll never be charged for anything other than what you purchase. I hope that all makes sense?

Any more questions, just contact [email protected] & I'll help you out!

          Cheers,
          Ben

        • @bjcolley:

          Thanks for clarifying.

Usually there is a little disclaimer somewhere advising of such. Maybe consider it just so you don't have to reply to every comment stating the same thing, haha

          @eecan:
yeah it is, when it's stated.

        • @bjcolley:
          Hey Ben,
          Me again.

This fee is still pending on my CC since 26th of April.
Now I know I'm being pedantic, but I am on OzBargain after all.
When will this fee get removed? It's been 12 business days and seeing a $1 pending txn on my transaction listing is really annoying me.

          Thanks,

  • whoops

Does the credit expire after 1 month or 12 months? It said one month at first but once I saved it the expiry becomes 12 months?

Thanks, gonna try them out this weekend. Combining with student happy hour offer $10 for burger and chips.

    • What time's happy hour?

      • 3-6 pm, student ID required.

        • can u choose any burger on the menu?
seems like great value with the $14.90 burgers.

  • Thanks OP and rep. Redeemed fine at Parramatta store. Burger was a bit small but excellent shake.đź‘Ť

$200 spend for $10 credit seems a bit average. I think Guzman Gomez is like $150 spend for $10 credit?

    • Nandos is $10 for $100 spend

â›˝ to Mel kills this deal for me

To be honest there's not much in 'reginal' vic besides a couple of farmers doing questionable deeds towards sheep

  • Can't connect to aston club when I enter my password. Anyone else have this problem?

  • +1

I'm getting the error: "You already have an Aston Club account attached to this phone number with a different email". I've tried entering all the emails that I could have used and no luck. Also no luck trying to recover the password from any of those emails. :(

    • I had the same issue - send your phone number to the support email and they'll sort you out

      • Thanks I've just sent them a support email.

  • I'm trying to enter my payment details and it is asking for my aston club account details. Do I have to register with aston club first, before I can use this?

    • I had the same error message saying I already had an aston club account with my email address.

The UI is bad (On Samsung S5), but if you click into the email field and make the keyboard go away there's a forgot login link… follow those steps and it'll email you a pw reset link, enter new pw and you're good to go.

  • Just signed up. Added payment method.
No signs of a free ten dollar credit, just the one that you can earn with points.

Love the programmed interface btw (Android).

    Deal over?

Did anyone else get charged $1 by Aston Club?

    • +1

      See a few comments up.

    • Yep

They have a few other $10 freebies like this, if you look around on their list of apps…

    https://play.google.com/store/apps/developer?id=LOKE+Digital…

    • Ah good catch, have to free up some space to try them all out!

  • Sorry if this has been asked/answered before but how do you actually use this app? If I want to buy something that's, say $15, and I want to use the $10 credit, do I just rock up to the counter, place my order, say I'm paying with the app, give the number on the screen and not have to pay anything at the counter because the $5 balance will be debited from my registered credit card? What will happen if I accidentally press the Im paying in-store button before arriving at the counter? It would be nice if the app has a list of FAQ's for people who are not used to this concept

    • Nothing will happen. It's like presenting your card at the counter but you are presenting your phone (or a number from the phone).

  • Redeemed today at parramatta

    No dramas at all

Wouldn't have paid for a burger there without the 10 off

  • Expired

  • Ah that's crap by the time I sent back n forth emails to get the account to work it's expired

  • +2

So I just looked at my bank statement and I noticed that I had the transaction for the discounted price refunded and was subsequently charged the full price :l I just sent off an email but that's just stupid. Not going back there again.

    • Really ? That sucks.
      What actually happened?

    • Same just happened to me, they charge correct amount first, then refunded it and charge me the full amount.
Opened case via Paypal, deleting app and wont be going there again either. What a joke.

      • +1

        Oh wow that sucks hard,.
I was going to use this, not now/

      • Mr Neil wants his money

  • used it today. $11.40 was the bill amount. $10 credit applied and $1.4 via Paypal.
Received a receipt from Burger Project along with the paypal confirmation email.
