Beware, if you have FTTN you need a Modem Router. A standalone router will not work.

      So only the DSL-4320L?

      • Correct.

        • So a router named DSL-4320L for FTTN.

          Ok.

    • Forgive my ignorance. Got an iinet Cable connection. Would the AC5300 Router $479.20 after 20% work for me? TIA

      • no

        • Why not? Cable modem stright into the D-Link WAN port and his wifi would surely be much better than that onboard the cable modem.

    • Most people will have ISP supplied modem routers which are hopeless usually hence these.

    • i got HFC apparently thats gonna be installed soon, which one do i get.

    • Most of the time you're better off using the modem supplied by your ISP along with a high-end standalone router.

  • Anyone tried the DLINK Taipan AC3200 - $367.20??

Overkill for gaming? or just right? Ive been looking for a new router like this for a long time. Historical price low?

    • Is there ever such a thing called overkill for gaming?

Personally, I'm going the bridged TP Link w9977 with an Asus ac88u. I prefer the flexibility of flashing routers with different firmware, especially when it comes to VPN use

      • Depends if you're in a congested house or not. With just myself even playing an fps on a cheap $100 tplink is just as good (Ping wise) as my mates $250 dlink.

If you're in a busy house, and need rock solid qos, I personally find the cheap ones have terrible qos, if it works at all =P

Yes i have it. I'm using it in a large house and the brick walls really reduce the range. It's better than the Netgear R7000 I had before. I do game on it over wifi 5ghz, no issues with interference and I do achieve gigabit speeds when transfering to NAS. No performance issues with 16 devices connected. I paid $600 at release and it barely worked with terrible firmware and dropouts, all those issues have been resolved.
