Claim Limit: There is a limit of five (5) Gifts per person in the Promotion

    • Thanks, have updated the post.

    • +1

"collect and retain a copy of their purchase receipt/s"

    • You musta been one of those lowlives that did that with the up and go rebel promo.

  • +5

Just in time for mothers day thanks! But what will i do with the JB card?

    • +3

You're not meant to give cat food to dogs FYI.

  • +12

These packs are $4.40 at Coles starting tomorrow. Spend $8.80, get 24 sachets of cat food and a $10 JB Hifi Gift Card.

I did a redemption last night and already have the digital JB Hifi Gift Card.

    • Did the packs you purchase specifically have the JB Hi-Fi sticker on them?

      • Coles maq centre doesn't have any special marked ones =/

      • +1

Yep. I bought 2 packs a few days ago just to see how it worked. Only one flavour had the JB markings on them at that time. Last night I noticed a couple more flavours so slowly coming in as older ones sold.

    • What are you going to spend the $10 on?

  • +6

does this strike any one as being a really weird cross promotion/combination ?!?!

    • +1

My feline can finally chill to Cat Stevens latest album without needing Spotify.

  • -1

    Shouldn't this be in comps?

  • +2

Whiskas isn't that healthy for cats.

    • Why is that? I don't feed them Whiskas personally, I use Felix for wet food and Royal Canine for dry, but just interested to hear if there's specific information on why Whiskas is not good for them?

      • i don't remember the specifics unfortunately it was many years ago when we had our cat. We only ever fed him whiskas, that's all he liked at the time from the grocery store. Eventually he had an issue with his thyroid and one of the reasons was a bad diet. we were reccomended not to feed him whiskas but another brand called Science Diet

        • +1

Did the Vet just happen to sell Science Diet products by any chance. They all try that crap on, these days. Never trust them.

        • @mrfluffy:

Yes they did sell Science Diet at the Vet. My first pet and didn't know who else to trust at the time.

        • +1

Super late reply but my vet also tried to sell me Science Diet, it wasn't until I did lots of reading and with the help of my friend who's had a few cats and currently has a bengal (who needs a super high protein diet) that I realised science diet wasn't that great. I'm now on Royal Canine's cat food, even though it's like super expensive, I pick up a bag or two when it's on sale at Petbarn, the quality is great and it's really high in protein (32%-33% for regular ones vs Science Diet's 27%). My cats end up eating less because they get the protein they needed.

        • +1

          @blueskittles:

Thanks that was good info for my next cat :)

      • +2

Basically its filled with junk. Read the ingredients on the back. IIRC the first ingredients are "cereal" (which is in a lot of cat foods, even though cats are obligate carnivores like ferrets and should only eat meat) and "meat by-products (doesn't even say what animals this meat comes from). There's a reason its sold so cheap. There's nothing overly nutritional for cats in it.

But hey, I always figure a fed cat is better than a starving cat. If Whiskas is all they'll eat, then it's better than nothing.

        • I used to work at a steakhouse, used to being home so much meat used to feed it to the cat. Those days are over but I alternate between Whiskers and Aldi cat food and occasionally scraps, tuna and salmon cans. When we got him as a rescue from Newtown Cat Protection Society we were told to feed him nothing but Science Diet cans/dried food, he refused to eat it. Have the feeling he barely left his enclosure for the 3 months he was in and mustn't have eaten much.

        • @RupertMurduck:
My vet kpet pushing science diet but I'm using Royal Canine now it's so much better, higher protein % and better quality food, my cats like it a lot more.

$10 will get you the Cat Stevens Ultimate Collection … https://www.jbhifi.com.au/music/browse/pop/remember-cat-stev…

  • limit of 5, does that mean i have $50 to spend at jb? i'm assuming that's the case as they are giftcards and not voucher or coupons, can anyone who got it confirm?

    • +1

      From JB HiFi FAQs

Can I use multiple gift cards for my online purchase?

The website will only allow up to 5 gift cards to be redeemed per order.

So according to this, yes you should be able to spend the 5 gift cards ($50 worth) all at once, but I haven't tried so can't say for sure.

  • +1

My cat is going to get really fat now thanks to this deal.

  • +3

Tops!! Thanks so much for posting this. I bought 10 boxes at Coles today and have already redeemed and used the 5 gift cards at JB online. I will donate the cat food to a local cat shelter as I don't feed this particular food to our cats.

    Much appreciated :)

    • Did you profit at all?

    • You can ask for a receipt and claim on tax.

  • +1

Just bought 10 boxes today at Coles for $44. Then used the 5x $10 vouchers to buy a $50 voucher, which has a much longer expiry date of 2 years. Seems like such a good deal I am still trying to find the catch… other than JB being overpriced generally, this is basically free money for someone who already buys these products anyway.

I might go buy another 10 each for the wife and 2 kids tommorrow ;)

    • +1

Did the same - dont have the storage for more. Staff discount off the total got mine to 41.80. Consolidated the giftcards succesfully into a JBhifi 50$ voucher. Cat is guna get to hate faux chicken and tuna…..

    • How long did it take you wait to get the voucher?

      • The promo vouchers are 2 step - enter details and box codes, and receive an email. Enter the code from the email into another site, and receive a further email with a link to the voucher itself. Each step the emails came through within 30 seconds or so.

When I consolidated the vouchers on the JB website, the first one came through immediately. I did another 3 last night, and the first came through immediately again, and the 2nd two took overnight for verification.

I Now have 4 x $50 vouchers, total cost $167.20 (I had a staff discount too, forgot to mention above); along with 8 months food for 2 cats.

        • Nice one. Thanks. I just did my first claim and it was pretty much instant as you said. I won't be consolidating my JB vouchers. I've got something to buy now.

Edit: I hope my cat likes the food, otherwise he's gonna be grumpy.

  • Anyone found it on sale for this week anywhere?

  • We buy a Whiskas brand cat food anyway, with Friskies kibble to supplement our cat's large/spoilt diet. With the first voucher I just bought a $30 PS4 game (Dishonored 2) reduced to $20 delivered which I thought was a pretty good deal.

Now that I know you can stack the vouchers I will either keep buying one a week since our cat begs us for his wet food, or purchase a few more when there's a sale on them.

  • Does anybody know how many giftcards you can use at a physical store checkout?

    • The most I've used is 11, so there's probably no limit, but you need to provide photo ID.

  • +1

    Cheers OP :)

  • Coles currently has marked packed as two for $14 (I got 7+ year Whiskas Tuna in Sauce, which my 2 cats like anyway). 48 packets of cat food and $20 worth of JB vouchers for $28. Not too shabby!

  • Just got my voucher but says only valid for 1 month. Is this a new change?

    • It's fine. Whiskas email says 1 month but printed the JB Hi-Fi voucher and it's 6 months. All good

      • +1

If you're concerned about the expiry, you can always buy JB HiFi gift cards through the website with your voucher/s, which will increase expiry to two years - as per Tarinedier's comment

  • Love this offer, it's paid for 3 pre order games, the cat has 8 months of food but hope red dead redemption 2 goes pre order in time.
Offer ends about end of 2017 + 6 months on voucher.

    • +1

As per the above comment to yours you make an account through JB online and use your gift voucher to buy a new one that will get emailed to you with an expiry of 2 years.

      • Thank you for that info, a big help :-) yay
