    DAMN

Unfortunately, this promotional offer is by invitation only.

    • +1

      same here.

oh well, dont think i've got anything to sell this time

    • +1

They even wrote it in red like I am in trouble.

  • +2

Worked on my eBay account that never sold anything on.

    • +1

I bet people will be lining up to buy things too :)

Bloody eBay. Give to everyone FFS.

  • I feel like the jilted lover…..

  • YEY

*Question: if your listing expires, does it count as "used"?

    • I think it does. I once listed an item but didn't get sold. It was setup for automatic re-list. Eventually, after the item was sold, I got an invoice from eBay.

Then I contacted the customer support and explained the situation. Got a full refund :)

      • Nice and thx, will keep that in mind :-)

      • What a pain, the exact same situation happened to me. I just ended up paying the fee.

        • I would have done the same but I mine was around $50 in ebay fees. So had to fight back :)

Thanks, first time i got one of these offers.

  • I have looked at Google, but still not 100% sure. If I sell something on ebay and the buyer pays by paypal, what fee does the seller have to pay on that transaction? Thanks

    • I think it's 2.5% but could be more.

Edit: I was charged 2.7% PayPal fees on my last sale.

    • PayPal fees.

    • +5

      Paypal fee is 2.6% + $0.30

The normal eBay final value fee is 9.9% of the sale price including postage

      • Just did a google search the above is correct.

      • Thanks everyone for your help, appreciate it.

  • Where do I sign up to receive these targeted emails?

    • We should be asking you instead, Bargain sniper!

    • You have to enable email promotions from eBay via your site preferences, but even then you may not receive them.

      • Yes, they are a real pain. I signed up to email promotions for this reason but after two years of spam I only got maybe two invitation only offers. Not really worth it and I have cancelled my subscription.

    • +2

eBay listing targeted promotions are for people who are not selling.
eBay credit targeted promotions are for people who are not buying.

  • +4

As usual I wasn't invited, go to hell eBay.

  • +2

In the T&C'c it states "This offer is only available to users who have never sold an item on eBay before. Users who have previously sold on eBay and eBay store subscribers are not eligible to participate". So possibly anyone who has sold on Ebay previously may not receive this offer.

  • Received, but I would prefer a discount code for purchasing.

  • Didn't receive in any accounts, oh well back to selling on bumtree.

    • +2

I'll offer you 1/10th what you are selling and you have to deliver.

      God I hate Gumtree.

      • +1

        Haha +1

"90% off mate if you want it gone today" lol

        • +1

I could list all night the funny replies..

One that sticks out, I was selling a coffee table, he asked for the matching chairs :)

  • Hmm…I saw this advertised in my seller account's Communications page, but I never received an email. It allowed me to activate even though I've obviously sold stuff before. I'll know by the end of the month once my eBay bill rolls in, I guess.

  • Thanks OP

Checked all 6 of my accounts 1 was able to accept this deal and another had a 20% off coupon waiting for me!!

    • Username checks out

  • +2

eBay didn't offer me this one. I don't seem to ever get these seller discounts. FeeBay fees are expensive.

  • Missed out on this, and the Vday promo.

eBay does not like to insert me. :(

  • +1

They can stick their insertion fees where the sun don't shine

    • Insertion fees are free ;)

      It's the final value fees….

  • +2

Active sellers won't get anything. They've feed eBay daily without any incentive.

  • For those having it work on alt accounts please tell me your secret? I have alt accounts all in the same name and some are new accounts, never buy or sell but nothing. Could it be because I used the same signup name for these accounts?

    • I use all the same names/number etc. a few weeks ago I got a 20% off code + 10 $1 fee listings on the other and I've just got both again on 2 different accounts. Usually I'll create a new account (without buying or selling anything) and then within a month I get an offer.

      • Also make sure you regularly check the accounts or are subscribed to emails (as I only saw these offers by chance)

        • Hey thanks, well I'm doing the same as you, I guess it truly is random?

  • From T&C:
"The promotion only applies to listings in one category. If you add an additional category to your listings, Insertion Fees (and other applicable fees) will apply for the additional category."

Does it mean I have to list all 10 items from the same category ?

    • +1

Typically that means each listing can only be in one category; each of the items can be in different categories. I agree it's poorly written in the context of a 10-item promo.
