  • $199 for the family

That's expensive. Is that before the 50% off…

    • it is after the discount, but looks like it is free entry to Adelaide Zoo, Monarto Zoo and most major zoos around Australia including Sydney’s Taronga Zoo, Melbourne Zoo and Perth Zoo.

      • -1

        it is after the discount,

        wow…

Just get Melbourne Zoo membership then. It's cheaper, even at full price, and you can still get in to Adelaide zoo and the other zoos you listed.

        • You can't use Melbourne Zoo membership in Adelaide Zoo. They blocked it last year.

@ek: They may want to update their Ts and Cs:

For Zoos Victoria members who live in NSW, SA, QLD, NT, WA and ACT, reciprocal entry rights to selected interstate zoos (Taronga Zoo, Taronga Western Plains Zoo, Adelaide Zoo, Monarto Zoo and Perth Zoo) apply to Adult, Child under 4, Concession and Seniors. Children between the ages of 4 and 15 will be charged an entry fee. All Zoos Victoria members must present a valid membership card upon entry, along with photo identification for the adult members. Failure to do this will result in you being charged a non-refundable entry by our partner zoos.

For Zoos Victoria members who live in Victoria or Tasmania, reciprocal entry rights to selected interstate zoos (Taronga Zoo, Taronga Western Plains Zoo, Adelaide Zoo, Monarto Zoo and Perth Zoo) applies to all membership types. All Zoos Victoria members must present a valid membership card upon entry, along with photo identification for the adult members. Failure to do this will result in you being charged a non-refundable entry by our partner zoos.

Melbourne Zoo is $96 per adult……total $192 with children free.
Adelaide Zoo is $199 for a family using this scoopon.

Wow……JV a massive $7 saving by buying a Melbourne Zoo membership. Certainly not worth taking the risk of not being able to get in if the other comments are correct saying you cant use a Melbourne Zoo membership in Adelaide.

          @newbie:

not worth taking the risk of not being able to get in

No risk. It's part of the membership. Read the T&C's

        • +2

          Not quite.

If you got 2 Zoo Victoria Adult memberships, you would need to pay for the children every time you visited Adelaide Zoo. SO if you LIVE in SA and plan on attending that zoo more than once, then this deal would be cheaper in the long run.

        • @phluffed:

You would need to pay for the children every time you visited Adelaide Zoo.

Lol, now you are making stuff up.
Each Melbourne Zoo membership gets their OWN membership card, even kids…

They actually tell you that you need them for when you travel interstate to get entry. Don't need to use them when in Melbourne though if the kids are entering with their parents.

          @jv:

You are suggesting a Melbourne Zoo membership is the cheapest option for EVERYONE, which is NOT correct. Perhaps you should read up on things before making stuff up

For Zoos Victoria members who live in NSW, SA, QLD, NT, WA and ACT, reciprocal entry rights to selected interstate zoos (Taronga Zoo, Taronga Western Plains Zoo, Adelaide Zoo, Monarto Zoo and Perth Zoo) apply to Adult, Child under 4, Concession and Seniors. Just to clarify for JV and others…

This isn't expensive when compared with other options.

Based on 2 adults and 2 children (4-14yrs):

Zoos Victoria cost $192 for 2 Adult memberships with FREE CHILDREN. VICTORIAN resident members will receive the free child entry at all reciprocal zoos. NON VICTORIAN residents will be charged entry for the kids at zoos in SA/WA/NSW ($20 per child per visit to Adelaide Zoo, $14 per child to Perth Zoo, $26 per child to Toronga Zoo.)

Perth Zoo cost $274 for 2 adult and 2 child memberships. This will give free entry for all 4 to all the reciprocal zoos.

Toronga Zoo cost $198 for 2 adult memberships ("family" discount if members have same address). Children are free to NSW/VIC zoos but WILL BE CHARGED for SA & WA zoos.

      • Thanks for correctly pointing this out.

Do we know if this is actually checked or are reciprocal zoos just sighting the children's passes and waving them through?

  • Does this one have reciprocal rights for members to visit other zoos?

    • -2

      You'd hope so…

    • Zoos SA membership gives entry to Monarto, Adelaide, Melbourne, Werribee, Healesville, Taronga, Taronga Western Plains and Perth Zoo.

The advertised 40% discount for an adult membership from scoopon website is misleading as the annual membership from https://www.zoossa.com.au/zoo-memberships/ is only at $106.95. Nevertheless, this is a good price. Thanks OP

    • +1

Scoopon are including the $25 joining fee which you have to pay if you aren't renewing your membership

      • ah…i see thanks syba

      • "A $25 joining free applies to new or lapsed members households." It looks like the $25 only applies once per household so the savings are still may be a bit exagerated in some cases.

        • I had to double check if you made a typo or the Zoo website has one, but it is the website - they have a "$25 joining free"!

  • Will I be able to see the famous animals and maybe Betty there?

    • You will be able to see Wang Wang and Funi.

    • and maybe Betty there?

      Betty is behind bars already…

      • Richards will be disappointed in you.

Note - this membership is from 1st June 2017 so don't expect to buy now and use straight away.

Membership packs will be available for collection from the Adelaide Zoo Membership Hub next to the main entrance from June 1, 2017

  • Why isn't there a annual family memberships on the zoo website ?

  • +1

Have been waiting for a deal on this for a while. Great for young families I think. Thanks OP!

  • Be aware that the terms for this deal state "New Members Only". I asked for clarification and they said that if you have ever previously held an Adelaide Zoo membership you can't take part in this deal.

    • Do they actually check, and how well do they check?

    • I asked for clarification

Was that reply from Scoopon or Zoos SA?

It's certainly not specified in any of the Scoopon T&C's so I think it could be argued. Zoos SA conditions treat any membership that is expired for greater than 3 months as essentially a new membership, with a re-join fee. I guess they either want the business or they don't…
