If the coffee is anything like the dual boiler then I'd reccomend this machine..

I have the sunbeam em 7000 and I'm struggling to think how this could provide $1000 more in value to me
Dual boiler- I myself brew and froth seperately anyway
Grinder- $150 smart grinder. Less parts to break in the expensive machine

I'm sure it's better but that is expensive for what the sunbeam already does well
    Anyone wanna discuss? Lol

    • Em 7000 is still 'good enough'.

    • The true reason for this, is so that someone else can prepare coffee for you.

I have had my EM6910 for 7 years. I am the only one that makes espresso based coffee at home. When I'm not around, out of action or interstate, my wife resorts to instant coffee.

As much as purists shudder at the thought of this machine doing 'everything', if I could afford it, I would probably get it - I've done my hard yards, understand grind, tamp, bean freshness etc. I'm happy to let a machine do it for me now!

Think of it as an instant machine, better than nespresso. The (lazy) coffee snob's instant coffee machine.

  • Don't forget the new model that's been announced last week!!!!

    • Looks dope
      Crazy price

    • The new machine is far too expensive.

I can't see how anyone would buy this over an Italian made machine.

  • I actually like doing the tamping myself as I have control over how much coffee to put in - make it bit stronger or a bit weaker.

I'm only using a really cheap Breville Cafe Roma. Simple but does the job. Not sure I could justify paying over $1000 for a better machine but it does look nice.

  • Is this a worthy substitute for …

When the new model comes out in November, the older models will cut 30-50% off. Will consider if it's $1200.
