How about free if you've already recharged.

        http://www.optus.com.au/shop/support/answer/how-to-unlock-yo…

"Provided that you've recharged your Prepaid service to a minimum/accumulated amount of $80.00 there is no fee, otherwise a fee of $25 will apply to unlock your handset regardless of the amount you've already recharged."

        • Do you know once this phone is unlocked, does it work for the Telstra 3G 850mHz or is that software locked still. I read somewhere that you can unlock that band somehow with software code or maybe needing to root etc.

        • @ozhunter68:

I'm not aware of individual band locks. This is the first I'm hearing of it. I'm no expert. All I can tell you is I tested my unlock with a Telstra prepaid sim and was able to call the phone. I believe all that is offered here is a network unlock. Store rep can correct me if I'm wrong.

        • @ozhunter68: Most optus prepaid aren't supporting 850Mhz so they will not work with Telstra network

    More spam than deal

  • Actually hard to find a cheap easy unlock code for the Alcatel Pop 4 5" Optus Prepaid version.

Can anyone help find unlock code please.

    • These model can't be unlock by code

      • +2

I had my prepaid Optus Pop 4 5" bought from a deal listed here unlocked by Optus and Alcatel and all it required was a code. Took a few phone calls as Optus lost my request at first and took a further 2 weeks to process it, but that's Optus.

        • Could you please explain the steps to do this?

        • @ozhunter68:

          1. Spend $80 on recharges.
          2. Ring Optus. Ask them to unlock.
          3. They send a message to Alcatel.
          4. You get the code in email and instructions to unlock. (Basically just put a different network sim in the phone and it prompts for teh code).

Takes a couple of weeks to get your code. Or over a month in my case because they failed to send the request the first time.

        • @syousef:

Thanks for help. I was aware how to get Optus to unlock once you spend $80 or more, but read in an early Pop 4 5" Optus prepaid special post that someone was able to get Alcatel to unlock phone from the get go ( I think if I remember correctly ). Optus specs say only 900/2100MHz but GSMArena states 850/900/1800/1900MHz , so not sure which is correct. Optus does not always list correct specs/bands as they do not want people to switch providers.

          @ozhunter68:

I'm sorry but I don't know any way to get that info.
