    They look pretty ugly.

The people wearing them usually aren't much better if that's a consolation.

Thanks OP just bought one as a last minute mothers day gift… It seems simple enough for a beginner to use. 30m waterproof, optical HR & GPS for under $100 is a great buy.

Having done fitbits and 2 garmins previously….. this is the best tracker I've used so far

    • Thanks. That's interesting info.

I'm currently cycling using a Fitbit Charge 2 HR. My phone's GPS isn't accurate so probably affects other data using it as part of any algorithm utilising time/distance.

However, it's all data from one source, so any accuracy/inaccuracy should be consistent.

      • I have compared with the HR monitor on the expresso bike at the gym https://expresso.com/Home which uses the metal hand grip sensors on the handlebars, and it is consistent. However, I don't know how accurate the bike is….

  • Could you upload the data from this to strava?

I believe so…. The main web based site is here https://flow.polar.com/ which will probably let you know what's possible

Polar activities with GPS and HR automatically sync to Strava.

  • Can you swim with this?

    • you are able to add swimming as a sport profile, both open water and pool

Here you can create a list of all your frequent sports and tailor them to suit you and your training needs best. For example, you can choose the data you see on training views and define the settings for each sport.

You can also add other water based sports like surfing etc

    • Yes 30m waterproof

I've got four devices: Aldi GPS, Garmin Vivosmart HR, Suunto Ambit3 Vertical and just got this M200. And I should say Polar is the best. Light, simple, HRM is quite good, GPS perfect, battery life - amazing (not sure yet, but my Suunto loses 10% per hour of activity, Polar still shows full battery after 2 hours of activity, don't know yet how to check exact number).
I wouldn't recommend it as a generic fitness tracker (for example you have to go through two levels of menu just to check number of steps or get your current heart rate), but if someone just interested in numbers for running/riding/swimming (haven't tried in a pool yet though) - it's an amazing device for that price.

PS And yeah, it's an ugly looking watch :-)
PPS Alarm vibration is nice and gentle

    • How's the battery life?

      • Not perfect, but not bad overall. The battery lasted ~3.5 hours of GPS activities and ~4-5 hours of HRM only activities. So, around 5 days for me.

PS After a week still think it's a not a bad device, have to look after HR sensor (clean up regulary, just water though), it tends to collect dirt or something and go out of whack

        • Care to share a receipt pls.

  • Thanks op, HN in store sold me 2, thurs nite 18/5.
    M200 is one uuglee sucker.
Up to 6 day battery life.

Can anyone comment on band life.

    • Band is ~$30 on polar website.

  • Missed this bugger. Anyone able to share receipt so I can try to get this price would be really appreciated.
