    Just be careful of this
"international calls to selected countries "
I have an old plan (loyal customer) and they wont upgrade me unless I accept that the international country I call (indonesia) is not included in my international minutes.
It's sad that I have been looking for other carriers because of this but it's been good while it's lasted.

    • Hi Ozy,

With the student plans, the $25.20 LIVE would be the best for international calling - you can use the full $1000 for calls to pretty much any international destination. For more information on our rates on this plan, check here

For those interested, here are our 'selected countries':

Bangladesh, Canada, China, Egypt, Hong Kong, India, Israel, Korea South, Lebanon, Malaysia, New Zealand, South Africa, Taiwan, Thailand, Turkey, United Kingdom, United States of America.

      • I'm not a student.
I also rarely use international calling, just that if and when I ever do, it's only to indonesia (family there)
currently on $35 plan, gives me 3GB data, and $2000 in calls.
I constantly go over my data but upgrading would take away my calls to family unless I go outside of my plan cap.

Is Vodafone an option for you? I'm on their $40 SIM only plan that comes with 300 minutes per month, I call Indonesia myself as well.

        • @bonezAU: Sadly i'm rural QLD.
I only get Optus or telstra here which is frustrating.

        • @bonezAU: But thanks mate

          @ozy:

No worries… kind of limits your options :(

  • For 'valid student ID' does the ID need to have this year's concession sticker on it. I am still a student, just not a full time one.

    • Hi Tsu-Chan,

The Student ID itself needs to be valid and not-expired so therefore it would need to have this year's concession sticker on it.

Where do I make a fake student ID?
Or can I use my son's primary school report card as an ID purpose ?

    • Let me know if you figure out to get fake id. I am also keen for it :-)

How about joining Uni, take a student id and leave it in cooling off period :-)

      • I know more than a couple of people who do that, just for the public transport savings (as well as deals like this, cheap movie & sporting tickets etc).

        • Doesn't work anymore here in Sydney with Opal cards, once you are not full time, your card will be blocked.

  • Any data free streaming?

    • Hi Cjb,

At this stage we don't have any unmetered data streaming.

    • I can't see it happening anytime soon. They are reselling the Telstra Wholesale (nextg+4g but not complete coverage) network. I can't see Telstra allowing them to put free data through their network. It's different when telstra allows unmetered foxtel data.

    I dunno, telstra's $40 10GB unidays deal is a bit more exciting

      Hi Nephilim,

Bar the freebies, we do think our $34.20 plan stacks up to their $40 plan - it's very similar in inclusions giving 9GB instead of 10GB with them, and Unlimited Calls instead of $1000 with them.

  • I have a couple of student kids that pay the phone bills for. They regularly go over the limit on their data. They shouldn't have any overseas calls to make. Can you port numbers across from Amaysim?

This doesn't really compare to the Lebara and Kogan 12 month lock in plans that offer unlimited talk and text plus 5 gb data for 16-18 in comparison

  • the kogan prepaid promotion $4.90 for new customers up to 14GB 30 days is really good

  • They might be cheap but they have close to nonexistent support, I've tried calling and emailing them regarding coverage issues I've had for months despite being in an area advertised as having full indoor 4G coverage, but I've still heard nothing back from them other than the same basic troubleshooting tips time and time again which doesn't help at all

  • What about international texts on the $26.10/M plan? Do I get charged extra or are they included?
