Also see that they are still selling SD set top box for $35. Useless when ABC news 24 and 7mate are HD only channels and can't be watched on SD STBs. Considering I picked up a PVR ready HD STB for $40 last month.
I have this DVD player/set top box.
It works great, however it is a little bit flimsy so be careful if using around kids.
I don't think many Kmarts have a lot of stock (this may have changed since they put it in their catalogue though so don't quote me on this) of it so if you interested in buying it I'd ring ahead to see if they have it in stock.
Does this unit play mp4/avi via the usb?
There is one from DSE that looks better and cheaper.

Perhaps you should change the title. When I first read it, I thought it was for a HD TV, PLUS a 'DVD and USB recording box'. I'd suggest something like "Akai HD Set Top Box with DVD and USB recording".
