possibly price match with OW ?

    • They do have stock online, but you wouldn't get the bonus cover

    • Just make sure that OW have the dual sim model (if important to you). When I was looking to buy this last month it seemed as though they didn't stock that, so had to buy from HN instead as I was too impatient to wait for Moto Online delivery. YMMV.

  • Ohhhh!! This or the Moto G5 Plus???

    • I'm in the same situation. Not sure which one to get. I'm kind of leaning towards this but the G5 plus has the finger print sensor that also replaces the 3 navigation buttons at the bottom of the screen. I'm not sure if the Z Play has this feature or not?

      • The Z Play looks like it only acts as a finger print sensor, however from the Z2 Play leaks it seems that Moto have implemented the new sensor found on the G5 Plus into the Z2 Play. The catch is that rumors say the Z2 Play will have its battery slashed down to 3000mAh (possibly to boost mod sales)

Thanks for posting this! I just called OfficeWorks and they price beat by 5%, final price $483.69.

OW pecs say it's not dual sim - seems odd that they'd have different stock to everywhere else - but it's not a feature I need anyway.

And no bonus flip case buying via OW (don't know what this is worth, since there doesn't seem to be an offical Motorola flip case for this model?), but Au stock, $25 cheaper and pick up locally tomorrow was enough for me to bite the bullet and stop dithering about which phone to buy.

    • XT1635-01 says single sim, and XT1635-03 is dual. That's all I could see hunting around. I'm surprised too if there is indeed both versions available here, as local AU stock

      • Picked it up today- great phone. It appears to be the dual sim model even though their specs and Q&A on the item listing say it's not. It says XT1635-02 on the box, there are two vacant sim slots in the tray (I'd read that one is blocked up with plastic on the single sim version), and when configuring SIM behaviour SIM slot 2 is visible in settings. It came with the ugly AF grey woodgrain shell.

        • Found it: About phone -> Hardware Information -> Dual SIM = true. OW just messed up their listing.

    • Cheers, i tried price matching with Harvey, got told they don't price match manufacturer price

      • If you phone OfficeWorks they'll price beat over the phone and post it to you. I only picked up as I wouldn't be around to meet the courier.

      • That is true, was looking to get it from HN, as I have the $50 AMEX offer.

        HN Price Match Guarantee

        What are the exclusions?

        • Offers that require delivery from an overseas based distributor direct to the customer
        • Advertising errors (either ours or competitors)
        • Yep, had Amex as well

      • you can always try ringing different HN stores and see if they agree to price match as every store seems to operate differently.

    • Cheers for the heads up about the price matching. Was about to buy through the Motorola site but lucky I checked this thread first. Got it for 5% cheaper From OfficeWorks and they actually had stock in store so I picked up straight away! Thanks for the tip!

  • has anyone updated their Moto Z Play to Nougat? If so, what version? I've been seeing a few threads where latest Nougat is not possibly coming to this phone?

    • The latest update I have on my Moto Z Play is 7.0

    • yep I had to install about 5 or 6 Android updates, second to last was the 7.0 upgrade and then another security update after that.
