Microsoft Office Professional Plus 2016 (License Key) - $35.99 @ Electronic First

164

First post here!
Been looking to buy Microsoft Office as my current version expired. Was going to buy 365 home during EOFY with cash back. However found this deal good enough as it is a one off purchase and it does include Access that I needed.
You get to choose to install 64bit version during installation as the original version is 32bit.
This is only 1 PC license.
Mainstream support for Microsoft office 2016 professional ends on 13 October 2020, and extended support ends on 14 October 2025.

Update: Reading some of the comments there appear to be some licensing issues here.

Somehow I am suspicious of the poster and the product.

    I don't know why.

    • -2

i googled them just to see and the company seems to be more legit than others… sure you get the occasional bad review but thats normal

also i see the "$35" price point on this more often than not so I assume this isnt an msdn technet thing.

I suspect its an indian brazillian russian whatever key and since I believe Office keys arent regional… buy away.

This site is not authorized MS store.
It's not legit and no different to $5 volume license ones from reddit

This "whatever" sourced key can be blacklisted anytime

        • +1

          Linked to reddit?

        • Instructions for installation takes you to MS store, not sure if they are authorised MS store but it is in my MS account and is working perfectly now.

          @achkan: good on ya

It's my understanding that keys from unused computers are legally able to be resold under EU law.

        • +1

@Kikiriki: And this rule gets abused a lot as a result, people re-selling same key with instructions from MS on how to install.

In AU, rules are a bit strict, try selling this "legit" Office key on overclockers forum and you will know what I mean.

If one has to really spend money, buy Office from MSY or SpendonIT stores maybe get OW to pricebeat. It will be more expensive but 100% legit.

on in Switerland overlooking lake Como, I can smell George Cluney making Nespresso next door, should I buy this under EU laws and will it work next week when I'm back in Australia ….. the dilemmas caused by globalisation.

        • @Kikiriki: Why wouldn't they be? We are allowed to sell things we own in Australia as well. If in the USA, where the EULA carries some weight, it might be a different story?

        • @Major Mess: those rights have been upheld by European courts. I don't know all the details of our fta agreements with the US and how they impact eula but to me the EU decision is logical and fair.

    • +1

Being my first post I bought it first, once you put the key in it sets country automatically to Australia.
I did some researches myself and found a few other deals from them here.
It is definitely added to my Microsoft account and just finished installation.

You can try and legitimize these sites as much as you like… Just like these cowboys last year..

      https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/304297

End of the day they are illegitimate and you are putting lots of funds in illegal enterprise..

  • Hmmm, let me know how you went. I would be interested also.

Its just few bucks in Ebay, isnt it?

    • +1

going down this path its always best to pay LEAST amount and not what appears legit
or else try HUP for legit license key if you are eligible

      • After 10 posts or so negging, I think you've made your point. Now take a rest and leave the rest of us buy it :)

        • +4

Here get it for FREE its office 365 not PRO but you don't spend your money on something that may stop working one day

        • @ozdesi:
Thanks @ozdesi. I'll keep that option in mind if I need a copy down the road. I still have a licensed copy from a uni course I did a few years ago. When that expires I'll have to do some research on where to go so I'll keep your suggestion in mind.

  • Has anybody migrated from Office 2013 to 2016? With no reason other than experience telling me that upgrades are usually problematic somewhere, I'm concerned that my four email account (with some large PST files) Outlook 2013 setup may not transfer properly. Or will Outlook 2016 just set itself back up how it was in Outlook 2013?

    Thanks for any advice. :)

    • Stay on 2013 or 2007 or whatever version you are on unless you have a business reason to upgrade.

Why spend money and waste time?

      • To lose the monochromatic flatness of Office 2013…

Thanks for being the only response though. :)

why the tracking ID in the URL?

    • OP's first post most likely they are not aware of this

  • Sign up for the free uni course (can't find the link but it was on ozb recently) and get a free Fitbit and an edu email address which entitles you to free Office anyways.

  • the fact you have to sign in to MS account to redeem key makes this seem pretty legit to me.
    nice :D

  • I got it for free by downloading :)

  • lol… and using Trustpilot as their evidence of quality - a clear sign this is a untrustworthy website

EDIT: they are based out of UAE - http://www.icpcredit.com/Companies/Electronic_First_Ef_Fzc/4…

EDIT: they are based out of UAE

Not sure what your point is ?

  • i pay $15

    • Where ?

    • +2

yes, and I'm a freemason so also get exclusive deals ….. companies that are on office 365 don't have 2016 HUP it's an EXTRA cost most don't want to pay ontop of office365, they have 365 which allows installation onto 5 PCS, including at home, if you leave your company you have 30 days to get your own office365 ……
To get the edu versions need education mail account …… any free mail accounts for a university ….. probably not , needs enrollment so $$$.

This $35 seems cool for those who don't have HUP or are not students.

    kmspico $0.

Just get WPS - better and free.

  • BTW, ~.75c cheaper if you purchase the US version.

  • Volume License or not?

  • +1

Plus is only available as part of a volume license enterprise agreement and is not for resale. When you have one of these agreements you get the keys up front and pay for you what you use. If there are too many activations the keys can be revoked. This is not legal to use in the EU or Oz as these are not "spare" keys but instead keys which haven't been paid for yet as part of the honour system business gets to use.

    • If I understand you correctly, the business who bought these VL licenses will get billed for your installs?

      • No. It's an honour system. The business reports how many it's using and pays for that. There will always be a few more activation counts than paid licenses because test builds and things like uninstalled copies don't need to be paid for but if Microsoft sees a big discrepancy they may revoke the keys. So you can often get away with using these keys without them getting revoked but they are no more legal than a cracked copy so why give away your money for an illegal copy.

        • well if it ties to your Microsoft account and updates and acvtivates that is a clear bonus ….. I know at work out Office 2013 used to get pushed down via SCCM which is what most enterprises do ….. you assume people in remote sites are users not PC enthusiasts, and so have limited skill set. If you are a small organisation you get individual keys as they assume you don't run SCCM.

I'm on 2013 HUP, wouldn't mind 2016 BUT Microsoft is pushing everybody towards subscriptions …. and bill split with the relatives on office 365 (upto 5 machines and accounts) and wear the $100 a year will soon be the norm.

Microsoft new model is subscription ….. good for cash flow and means no legacy stuff to support …. Windows 10 and Office 365 is the vision, always patched…. so office 2016 supported mainstream until 2020 ….. 2025 if you BUY extended support.

Look at the hassle XP and Win 8.1 has caused with the last ransomware outbreacks, WannCry amongsy others ….. no issues with Win 10 with current patches.

Microsoft has bigger visions and licensing roadmaps beyond what people squabble about in OzBargain, 2016 is already legacy for them, 365 ands subscriptions is the future.

  • Still using Office 2007 with no problems.
    :D

  • HMU if you want to buy the same thing from me for 19.99!

  • +2

It's not a genuine license key. Save your $35 and just download a copy of the internet or purchase a legitimate copy for a couple of hundred.

  • +1

Bought this the last time from another Supplier on OzBargain but had a few problems, not with registering or activation but with other issues. Turned out to be issues with permissions due to the way it was activated using the Key method. If you encounter Error 0xc0000022, I have the solution. Works perfectly now. Checked with Microsoft and key is legitimate Global key.
