    Yep, generic code confirmed.

how do these stack up with the Xiaomi hybrid IV pros?

  • I'm pretty interested, but besides online reviews, can anyone else give their verdict on these? I might just pull the trigger and go for them.

I was looking at these 2-3 years ago when I needed some new canalphones with inline mic. I ended up going down to the AF45m and this was my experience with them, so take this with a grain of salt.

Soundstage is just fine for the average user and the fabric cable gives it durability. Locally-made and 5 year warranty (last I knew) was a plus. Downside for me is that the mic is terrible and picks up everything but your voice - almost useless for handsfree calling. They're pretty comfortable and good enough but I would stop short of saying pull the trigger if the mic is still sub-par and you need this functionality. In saying that, if you can look past this, mine have been through ringer and still functional where most others would have fallen apart by now.

Just one other point, I purchased mine from Headphonic out of Perth who are experts with these products. They don't seem to stock Audiofly any more, which throws up a red-flag of sorts as they are very selective with brands they stock and recommend. They have a very good forum if you'd like to check it out: http://headphones.com.au/forums/

      • Thanks for your view and comments on the (your version) of the earphones. The mic is not important to me (can always disconnect the earphones to take a call), I'm more concerned about the quality of sound, and how comfortable they are.

Having owned a pair for almost over a year I must admit sound quality wise for an average day to day user is great for me. Durability and wear and tear is average. After a year of use I've replaced the memory foam tips once (2 come in packaging) and the 3.5mm silver bezel has come loose (just glued on). Take into consideration for some this is a straight 3.5mm connection not a 90 degree angle and may inconvience some people who listen to mobile phones in pockets like jeans.

Overall happy with the product and would recommend to others

  • If I was to spend $100 on earphones, would these be the best ones?

    • There are a reasonable number of options around this price range.

These are likely to be the best Australian made ones

      • They're ok, but not Colombian quality.

  • What's JB's return policy on something like this if the fit doesn't suit?

Are these better or designed as over-ears?
