      Previous posts suggest you don't get it back. I have done it anyway just in case.

        I received Amex credit for purchase of physical "classic" gift card (Not e-gift). Cash rewards tracked the sale and is "pending" but I doubt it'll go through. You're supposed to get cash rewards when you spend using the gift card as a payment method. That way, cash back is void on purchase of gift cards and you can't double up cash back.

          @BakaHaze: to get cash rewards? Yes. I think comment threads in the Amex deal said you can stack up to ten gift cards online. Or unlimited in store if you have an obliging employee.
          Cash rewards only rewards online purchases and can only track online purchases…

      Not anymore, no. They used to have a tech section, then they outsourced the tech sections to Dick Smith, and when Dick Smith went bust, I don't think David Jones ever replaced them with anyone or anything else.

    Any idea if this works on luxury brand watches such as Gucci? They cost around 2k each, so 10% is quite a lot.

          They would be the most uncompetitive company in Retail.

          There is no need for them. They now range a whole heap of private label apparel that they try to knock off as some top end brand.

        True that, but the Gucci watches seem to be priced the same as the official Gucci store. I doubt I would be able to find anything cheaper else where, that carries genuine local Gucci warranty. :(
