Not a single instore anywhere is sydney.

    • Pretty sure they jacked up their shipping prices for this sale, I don't remember it being that expensive for one item shipped from them before

      • +1

$9.06 is for express postage, the normal price for normal postage is $3.5. And it applies for everything but this Destiny, somehow it is "bugged" out, prices for "normal" postage and express postage are $9.06. LOLLL

        • same for Twilight Princess HD Collector's Edition Strategy Guide, express is same price as normal ?????

    this is sooooo tempting

    wait a minute

    i don't even own a PS4

(still might buy a copy though….because ozbargain)

  • +3

I dont know how small a player pool there is - since the vast majority have moved onto the fallen king expansion and when destiny 2 comes out in 4 months expect the small player pool shrink even more .

  • +1

Some Broden is selling this on ebay for $50 + $30 shipping. The normal price at EBG is $20!

  • +3

Is this worth it for the single player campaign ? Is there even a campaign in this ?

    • There IS a campaign, and it is fun enough, had no complaints. Not very long, though not ridiculously short either.

      • what if bungie shut down the server? i.e coastal ?

    • +2

      Kinda, it's really bad though.

    • +3

Wouldn't even call it a campaign. I found the regular CoD campaign to be more enjoyable. Your character is essentially a mail man for the "ghost" that revives you. "DLC" are ridiculously expensive, and equally short. I bought "the collection" for $39, finished the whole thing in around a week. Raids/Strikes are boring. PvP is ok, however at 30fps and peer-to-peer, by today's standards is not good, if you lean more towards competitive play even worse. For casual though its ok.

  • Anything else good to make the shipping worth while?

  • +1

No 360 or Xbone for $4 to add to my collection

  • +1

It's worth it for the single player campaign & you can still play in pools with other players that haven't bought the upgrades. For $4 its a no-brainer, just buy it and enjoy it… but bear in mind you'll probably end up buying the expansion packs once you get hooked. Unlike many other games the majority of Destiny is in the expansion packs not in the original game.

  • Picked up a copy on Xbox one - thanks OP!

  • thanks got 1

  • Note about shipping

Stock can now be sourced from EB Games stores themselves in addition to their warehouse in Queensland. I imagine postage from stores are a lot more calculated than the warehouse's blanket pricing.

  • +4

Not really worth buying unless you want to play about 40 minutes of an online campaign. You have to fork out some cash to keep playing, EVEN to play online multiplayer.

    • what if server shut down?

      • Then you cannot play it, as everything is server-side. Unless they do some sort of patch before they shut the game down, to allow you to play in offline mode, but i highly doubt that.

Just bear in mind Destiny 2 is coming out in September.

    nothing more than shovelware

  • 4 dollar games to grind 4 life

      until they close the servers…

  • Seems like a bargain, but looking into it the $57 Collection is probably better value if you're considering getting any of the expansions later on.

  • +1

This looks like vanilla only, so there wouldn't be too much content/story. But for $4…
Currently it's in a good spot content-wise with the following DLC's added on as well, you wouldn't get.
    * The Dark Below (DEC/14) Crota Raid
    * House of Wolves (MAY/15) Prison of Elders
    * The Taken King (SEP/15) Oryx Raid
    * Rise of Iron (SEP/16) Aksis Raid
+ Destiny 2 is out in 4 months

this game is bereft of content and useless unless you fork out for the DLC… can't even trade the disc in because it's worth all of 4 bucks. no other game disc is worth as little… original price… 79… 1st DLC 40… 2nd DLC 40… 3rd DLC for another 40. just shy of 200 bucks total. even though the content is on the disc (full edition with all DLC) it's still locked to your account because it's classified as digital DLC. poor show bungie.

      • +3

You negged for $4…username checks out

      • ^ It's currently $89.95 on the PSN Store for the complete edition

I agree if you bought everything at launch, the game is a money sink - but now, $4 is a nice way to dip your toe in the pool and see if you want to make that $90 investment.

        • I still paid less for D1 + all DLC ($160-180?) than I would've CoD 2014/15/16 ($80x3?).
          Plus I got around 1500 hours (10c/hr) out of D1 compared to 30 hours for 3 CoD's ($8/hr).
So, for me I don't see it as a money sink, more like a spare time sink. Why I just don't understand why people complain about the money especially over a 3 year period.

        • EB is selling the collection for $57. That's cheaper than it would cost to buy all the upgrades on PSN after getting this $4 base game. It's a much better deal at the end of the day (You can get it even cheaper on eBay).

      • What's the reason for negging a game that's $4? It's a bargain, just buy the game and wait for a sale on the DLC's. All the DLC's do not cost $200 all together, Destiny: The Collection is RRP at $80 (which includes all DLC's).

        • -2

if you bought the game at release… and all DLC at release… 200 f….n dollars. destiny 2 is on the way with the same pricing structure. can't play without a paid xbox live subscription… can't lend it to a friend… can't trade the game in. the game is empty without the overpriced DLC that is locked to your account… even if you buy the full version on a disc the DLC is still locked to your account… therefore making the disc worth all of 4 dollars. cheap for a reason…

  • Buying the cheap base game only is a smart move - it's worth it to try it out without significant investment.

I bought the original version disc only for $10 a while back, when Taken King was new. The EB sales guy tried to convince me it wasn't worth buying without all the extra content and I should buy the Taken King version for $60.

My response to him was that for $10, I get to try the game and see if I like it - then I'll decide whether I want to invest more money and time into the additional content. I got a good 6 hours of gameplay with friends before I decided that yes, I will upgrade.

So no. You're better of trying the demo to see if you like it and then getting the complete collection physical for between $50-60.

      • Erm, ok, so in the long run you're risking $4 still? You can still buy the complete edition from EB after if you decide you want to.

Much of a muchness. My point is $4 is much less of an investment then buying the complete package.

  • I brought the game from JB hifi (Chadstone) yesterday for $4. Showed them the EB site with the "in Stock " info and they said they will price match it for me. Not sure If they have more copies or not though, it was in the pre-owned section

  • Lol im guessing i cant buy this to Trade in my PS4 towards a Pro ?
