  • Can't comment on this paricular product but we have a Methven satin jet ultra low flow which was cheaper than this and has a WELS rating of 4.5l per minute.

Just throwing out another option for those that may be looking for another option that is more water efficient.

Thanks for your comment. What makes the Cullector so special is the other built in water saving features. As far as I am aware the Cullector is the only shower that actually captures the water that is normally wasted during warm-up time. It then uses a venturi effect to mix that water back into the shower to create a stronger fuller flow.
The Cullector also has a built in shower timer. After 4 to 5 minutes all of the captured water has been used and a little air is drawn into the system and mixes with the shower water. This create a gentle pulse that lets you know that your shower time is up. You can also pause the shower at any time without adjusting your taps to soap up or shampoo. So you see it has many other features that add up to real savings! Cheers

That's fair enough and a good use of what would otherwise be wasted water. I capture the cold water in a bucket to use on the fruit trees in the garden to reduce my overall consumption.

I'm sure your product will do well.

        • Thanks for your kind words and good on you for making every drop count! Cheers

  • Interesting idea. I wonder if you could use the canister with any head or does it only work with the one that comes with it, as I would second the comment about the Methven Satinjet - a great showerhead.

    • Hi and thanks for your comment. Unfortunately many third party shower heads don't work with the Cullector. They create too much back pressure and this can cause the venturi to fail. I am not sure if the Methven Satinet would work or not. I just had a look at the Kiri Satinet and that runs at 7.5L/pm so it could work but I could not guarantee it. The Cullector shower heads are designed to create minimal back pressure and they match the inbuilt venturi to drain the bottle in 4-5 minutes. Cheers

  • Credit for an innovative idea Peter. Any chance you will be designing a more modern version with maybe a edgier look?

Hi thanks for your question We do have another model in the pipeline but from concept to commercialisation is a rather long and expensive process. If all goes well it will be available early 2018. Cheers

  • Hi Peter, good on you and I'm very impressed with your product. Just wanted to enquire - how do you stop scum build-up in the storage bottle? Is it something that can be cleaned and if so how often would you recommend?

Hi and thanks for your enquiry. Cleaning the bottle really depends on the water quality coming out of your shower outlet. Up until about 6 months ago we had old galvanised iron pipes and the water was a bit rusty. The bottle needed cleaning about every 12 months or so. We just took off the bottle and let it sit with some CLR in it for an hour or two and then gave it a shake and put it back on. Now that the pipes have been replaced with copper all the way to the shower the water is very clean and I don't think we will need to clean it ever again. If you are on tanks or in an area with high mineral deposits you may need to clean it occasionally but it is very easy to unscrew to clean. Cheers
