A fun exercise, Consider how many items you own that are ozbargain sourced

I just was making coffee on our ozbargain sourced coffee machine in my kitchen this morning and started daydreaming. I realised that most items in my whole house are from ozbargain posts.

I noticed my toaster, microwave, fridge, coffee machine were all from ozbargain. Took my coffee over and Turned on last fornights DSE sangean digital radio, noticed the TV on the wall was from a post. The cabinet in the corner…

You can create a Bookmark folder labelled something like "Purchased" so you can keep track of it all. My wife will never see that list.

I am old, and my house is already full of stuff, so not as much. But my round the world business class trip in September/October is thanks to Ozbargain (Would've been so dark if I hadn't latched onto that).
Even if something isn't directly from an Ozbargain post it can be germinated from one. If I'm looking to buy something I will search Ozbargain to see the history of product pricing and anything similar available. Ozbargain is like a warm blanket, it makes you feel good about what you buy.

    • Yeah, I was thinking about that too, every holiday we have had in the last 6 years or so was kicked off from an ozbargain flight deal post!

and yeah there some spin off purchases too.

  • Dishwasher
    TV
    Mobile Phone
Herringbone shirt I'm currently wearing as I type this
    Probably many more…

  • Many, including my girl friend.

You found a girlfriend on ozbargain? That first date must've been so cheap the restaurant paid you

"I've got a friend who is into this. It's to the point now where his life is nothing but a relentless hunt for bargains - on anything at all. He's descended to the point where he's addicted to coupons like a gambler is to the pokies.

      It's quite sad to see.

I remember once he bought a terrible quality telescopic fishing rod on special. It broke first cast, and he was devastated. Another friend and I easily caught fish all afternoon with our premium fishing rods.

I hope he seeks professional help, and finds substance in his life."

      • that comment cracks me up lol

Phone, shaver, watches, tv, shirts, shoes. All of them used within the last 24 hours. Just had $5 Big Mac meal for lunch. Even my Freezer has $3.25 McCain pizzas and cheap ice cream from recent deals.

Not to mention many uber cheap flights.

Would've had my vacuum cleaner from OzB too but I 'brodened' it for profit.

  • Dyson Vacuum cleaner from TGG, TV from Aldi, Free Modo Mio coffee machine - my all time favourite deal (Never got my complimentary pods though), once-used Tap King, most of my phone cables, my GF's iPhone from the Dick Smith clearance and a bunch of other stuff.

As said above, if I don't get something through an OzBargain deal itself I'll usually check here first to see if it's near a historic low.

  • one of the best I got was free nespresso coffee pod machine with aerochinno, on a amex sign up deal.

    at the time worth $350 - $400

    then there was
    dyson hand stick vaccum,
numerous amounts of eneloops and xiaomi products,
dominos coupons, maccas and kfc coupons,
15% off ebay site wide deals,
Citibank signature credit card fee free for life,
cheap return flights to Hawaii and japan

but by far the most cost saving is entertainment book voucher swapping,,,
