  • Can anyone confirm if they are offering this price in VIC?

    • Ikea are having a sale in Perth and Adelaide, this may be apart of it

      • Yes. The WA and SA price is usually separated from the rest of the states.

  • Strange a 6 pce set. They show 3 pots and lit details of 3 pots only.

Anyone know the largest glass lid pots size?

      3 pots + 3 lids = 6 pieces. :)

Never buy cookware with glass lids, gunk will accumulate between the lid and metal and looks awful.

The saucepan handle is also awful and would be uncomfortable.

And I will never buy from a company that promotes lids as a piece.

      Dishwasher will clean the lids
What brands dont count lid as a piece ?

      • No dishwasher will get gunk out that jams between the lids and the metal rim after a while (or in this case the centre).

What brands dont count lid as a piece ?

        Most reputable brands don't: https://goo.gl/fz0wKP

        • All those have glass lid, so what do you buy then ?
Also centre one can be taken off normally.

All those have glass lid, so what do you buy then ?

The link I posted was an example that most companies don't count lids as a piece, it's not what I'd buy or suggest.

I prefer cookware with metal lids; I really see no benefit in glass lids, you can't see anything when they steam up, they get gunk in them, are heavier and they can break.

No advantages whatsoever, just disadvantages but I guess it's cheaper to manufacture.

Also centre one can be taken off normally.

That's a hassle, shouldn't have to unscrew cookware to be able to clean it.

        • @Scab: i prefer glass lids because in my experience they haven't gotten dirty despite years of use, I can see the food for a while at least after i putt he lid on, and glass is an insulator not a conductor and a lot thicker than typical metal lid so technically should keep more heat in and is less hot to the touch so less chance of burning myself on it if I am not careful, but appreciate your view and experience is different to mine.

    • These are actually pretty good quality. The glass is thick and there is no metal rim around the lids

      • No there isn't a metal rim on the lids but there is in the centre.

This will get gunk in it after a while.

But regardless, glass lids are almost useless as they steam up and you can hardly see a thing.

The saucepan handle is in fact uncomfortable. Didn't realise till I handled one in store.

      • +2

Try it when it's full and heavy, it's even worse.

The handle is not ergonomic, my crappy Scanpan handles are almost identical and I hate using them.

The best handles are the triangular shaped ones or ones that aren't flat.

I have this set, the handles can get hot :(

    How many cable ties?

  • I have a set 365+ that I bought over 10 years ago. But mine is with metal lids. Very good quality, it outlasted many branded pots over the years, would definitely buy one for this price if can be found in VIC
