BCF has reduced their Shimano Stradic price for members ($199). Usually $259-$329 (depends on size). Cheapest on eBay around $230. You can also get it from Motackle (also $199), but you need to + delivery if you don't live nearby.

Stradic is considered a work horse for fishing reel. Robust and good strength for drag.

I have a few Shimano reels, and stradic is probably the best bang for the bucks.

  Hmmmmmmmm… I got the Daiwa BG for $150 + voucher the other day from BCF. Is the $10 members deal new members? Is this worth $50 more? Alan Hawk rated the Daiwa BG pretty high.

    I think Alan Hawk prefer the BG over the stradic. Personally I prefer Shimano over Daiwa, but that's me. Why don't you go to the shop and pick up one, and see if you like it. I found the reel I use most often is not the most expensive one.

      I already bought it hahaha haven't used though, but spooled the BG4000 up with some 30LB 832 Braid.

      Anyone got some decent land spots in Syd?

      Went to lilly pilly recently….. caught nothing but baby fish that stole our bait most of the time (using tough chicken as well).
