This post contains affiliate links. OzBargain might earn commissions when you click through and make purchases. Please see this page for more information.

VAT is removed at checkout, available in white. Looks like a great price, about $120 cheaper than the last deal

Estimated delivery shows as June 13 - June 20 (2-3 weeks).

Model has band 28. Not to be confused with the Moto Z Play which is the model below, side by side comparison here. This Moto Z includes 4GB of RAM instead of 3GB, Snapdragon 820 instead of 625 & higher resolution display. The Moto Z is also slightly slimmer, lighter and has a more premium design; however Moto Z Play wins out in battery life & has a 3.5mm jack inbuilt (Moto Z requires included adapter).

    Does it have B28

    • +1

Yeah it does, only the US version does not have B28. Amazon doesn't show the bands, but searching the model number 'SM4430AD1R8' on google results in a few links with specs which confirm that it has B28.

    This is Lenovo, not Motorola

    • +2

Motorola is a subsidiary of Lenovo

Do you shop at Woolworths Limited or Wesfarmers?

      • +1

        He probably shops at metcash

  • The "mods" seem like a useful idea even though a lot of them are overpriced. Basically you can snap on an optical zoom, a speaker, a projector or a battery pack.

  • And this model has atrocious battery life compared to the Z Play

  • Sorry about going off topic but I am traveling to the states soon and was looking into picking up the moto z play Verizon… Any use in Australia if I unlock it as it is only 50usd at Walmart

    • I could be wrong, but I assume you'll have some connectivity, but not 700Mhz Band 28 (so less optus/telstra LTE coverage)
If you use vodafone it'll be good because of 850 LTE
I am hoping to do the opposite… bought the international model of the play (which seems to have most bands except the high number US ones) and use in US

Though I suspect that "$50usd at walmart" is on contract, at least that's how I see most US phones advertised

      • Currently using a moto g 1st gen which is 3 g so I figured anything is an upgrade

          Band 28 android 7 ……not a bad phone for $400.

    • Verizon uses CDMA, which we don't use in Aus. We use GSM. It wouldn't work here in Aus anyway.

I think most Australian networks have/are moving to voice over 3G and voice over LTE. So a phone without GSM may not be an issue in the near future.

Looks like a good deal. Almost as cheap as some of the Chinese SD820 phones but a brand name with B28

  • I got this phone. Relative to other sellers this price at Amazon is still high for Germany. It has been on Special for 249 Euros for a few weeks at various retailers there.

Unfortunately none of the others ship directly to Australia and getting it posted via a friend there meant that I did not get the VAT back. In the end I paid about the same as this deal.

A very slick phone. Battery life is a downside though, and a mate of mine cracked one of the small glass panels on the back even though he used the included style cover.

Also note: this is the single SIM version.

  • how does warranty work with amazon germany? will lenovo honour the warranty here?

hmm it says it won't deliver to aus?
