  They're good, but nowhere near the 2000 watt and 2200 watt models.
  
  They don't make a 2200 anymore, I have the last model (S8310). The 2000 is still a fantastic suction and is much better than what Dyson has to offer.

I bought one of these a few years ago. They were more expensive then. Hasn't missed a beat and we use it regularly on both hard surfaces and on carpets.

Get the turbohead attachment if you can, it's really good.
