Seagate 3TB Expansion Desktop HDD $125 @ The Good Guys ($118.75 Office Works Price Beat)

160

Í have been looking for a fast external hard drive to go with my Xbox One. This particular HDD is very fast. Inside is a 7,200RPM 3TB Barracuda HDD with a 64MB cache. It is faster than the 4TB model, that has a more energy efficient 5,900RPM HDD inside.

For $125 at The Good Guys, it's a good price based on current pricing. I got Officeworks to price beat it bringing the price down to $118.75.

The same 3TB hard drive is currently $139 at both JB HiFi and Officeworks.

Edit: This is not for shucking. For Xbox you simply plug and play straight out of the box. Games stored on an external hard drive load much faster than games loaded from the Xbox's internal HDD.

Note if you are going to shuck this, you could just buy a WD Blue for $123 instead.

    • It's not for shucking. You use it in the enclosure. Plug and play for Xbox.

You take the hard drive to the counter and ask them to price beat The Good Guys. They will check the Good Guys website and then adjust the price.

Just beware there's a 3.5" HDD inside the expansion "desktop" series. While the 2.5" HDD from expansion "portable" should be compatible with XBONE.

Incorrect. For Xbox you don't replace the internal HDD. You use this as an additional external HDD to store and play your games from. Plug and play.

MSY have the original Seagate Green 2TB Game drive for Clearance.

Still $129 though, cheaper than the original $169.
