Apivita at Myer - Buy Two Skincare Products and Get Face & Eye Foam Cleanser for Free

30

Saw this deal on the latest myer catalog. Went to Adelaide city myer and got confirmed by their manager that their masks, which are $6.95 each, are considered as skincare products. The cleanser is worth $40. I think this is a very good deal though.

  • However, the down side of this is that I was treated so rudely by the sale person. A friend of mine went there with me and we both saw the deal and decided to buy it. The sale person first sad okay to me but then she went:"One per person, but you two can only buy one" and gave me so many crap reasons like the deal must be wrong and so on. Then she ends up shouting at us saying we have ruined her "night" and upset her. I then told her to go to complaint and she went"I've been working in myer for 10 yrs, this little complain can not affect my position at all and in fact, I don't care"…

We end up complaining her at myer service center and her manager came up said the masks were in fact considered as skincare products and everyone can get that deal and apologised.

My night was actually ruined by her!!!!

Just need to be careful when going for this deal

    • Sales people are funny, this is the company's promotion and why would she feel upset when customers getting a good deal? Support you to write an email to complain about this!

  • how extremely rude of her. Maybe you should make a complaint in writing

  • I got this deal too but it was a battle! Myers in Perth

  • I ended up getting this deal but not without a fight, and not without being reduced to tears in front of everyone. I had to speak to the floor manager of Myer to get my issue resolved. She was incredibly apologetic that any Myer staff would treat customers so rudely and that i had to go through such a terrible experience.

The store i went to was Myer Sydney City CBD. The Apivita sales lady there, Mary claimed to be the only Apivita manager in the whole of Australia, and that there were no Apivita Managers in other state i.e Adelaide City. And therefore, no manager could possibly have given this deal.

She treated me appallingly - incredibly rude and without any compassion. No customer service skills at all. When i tried to argue my case: a) that the masks are considered skincare b) that it is not listed as an exclusion and c) that other people were able to get the cleanser by purchasing the masks. She declared that anyone who got hold of the cleanser by buying the masks were liars and thieves.

I will never buy anything from Apivita again, and from now on will tell everyone i know or meet not to buy from them. Their staff treat customers like they are scum.

In retrospect, i would not have bothered with this deal as i was left in a big mess by the end of it: upset, in tears, emotional and feeling crap, she ruined the rest of my day. I am still recovering from the ordeal. I got what i was entitled to, but at what cost?! At the end of the day, she's not the one who is upset or crying.

    • Apivita has no counter at Adelaide city myer, but they are in myer's own cosmetic and skincare department here. The manager who give me this deal is actually the manager for this department but not apivita's own manager.

I've written a long email to myer to complain their customer service and hopefully they can get back to me one day.

Sorry for your experience, I almost experienced the same thing. How can myer compete with other department stores if their stuff are trained to treat their customers like this?

  • we could report this to ACCC as they are advertising something they don't want to redeem! I will go to Myer Chermside in Brisbane tomorrow and see what they say. If they don't redeem this offer, I will just ask the person who doesn't redeem to write down the reason and sign on it, and tell her/him that I will send this to ACCC and see what ACCC say about it and let your ladies how it goes.

    • We should indeed do that!! I email complained the situation to Myer service center in nsw and got some craps apologies back. They then send the complaint back to Adelaide City Myer and the manager who dealt with me the other night called me again and said so many "sorry".and apologies…..

Still haven't been fully recovered yet from that nite.

If they won't let us redeem the offer, they should say it in first place as "masks are excluded" or something similar. Don't know what their team are thinkin!!~~

      Anyway, good on ya, cheekygirl:)

  • I am very interested to know what Myers has to say about this so please let me know if you hear form them. I would like to say that I am an Apivita customer and absolutely love their products. I also buy from Myers in Sydney and have always found Mary to be very kind to me and always honest when I ask her for her advice. I do not understand how she could have bought some one to tears… Anyway, from reading this thread it is clear that there has been a mistake in outlining the conditions of the offer in the catalogue especially since this has happened in various states.
