BUY RATING!

Normally USD $499 - been watching this for weeks now! Cheapest was $460 but who knows if it ever drops again soon so I decided to get it before the GST Import charges kick in.

  • 3% discount seriously?

    • That's A$40 and it's 6% $499->$469

good luck finding this one cheaper somewhere.

But! ..OP has been "watching for weeks!" can't imagine the joy when they were able to snatch it up for 3% off RRP.. Not to mention still relies on good USD currency conversion. http://i.imgur.com/69Bd6pH.png

It's 6%, also strongly suggest to use bankwest card and not let amazon do the conversion. thanks

Great premium chromebook, but the price is edging close to Windows notebook.

IMO, Chromebooks were never meant to get to the $700~ mark, they fit a perfect niche in the market.. to now try and be more powerful, feature-full.. etc - Is just going to start getting themselves compared to things like surface pro's. (Something they definitely do not want).
I for one, love my little $300 2-3 year old beast I can throw in my bag in the chance of something needing an extra device for certain dev work.. to look and see 'specced' out chromebooks(no reason to do so) worth $1000+ just makes me confused what market they think they are trying to get a stronghold on

    • Is this chromebook the top of the line out of all the chromebook's that google has to offer or is there more? I'm very confused on their product range tier of Chromebooks.

There is another premium chromebook coming soon

        Samsung Chromebook Pro

        • Yes i was tossing up between the pro and the asus, however pro is $549 out of stock everywhere and has no backlit keyboard but better resolution. Asus wins for me personally.

Yes, but the operating system is irrelevant (apart from the Microsoft tax you pay with Windows PCs).

This Asus C302CA with Windows would have a RRP for over $1000. It is Apple quality so at approx $700 it is a bargain.

  • It would be good for android apps though I can live with android apps running on my chromebook without touchscreen.

    • Some apps are a real fiddle indeed to use without touch screen.

  • im getting AU$679 with standard delivery…

Great notebook. I am using a C302CA right now. I was happy to pay $740 with express delivery.

Just sold my i7-4770K with linux and so far so good with my full-time switch to ChromeOS :)
