Battlestar Galactica: The Complete Series [Blu-Ray] [2009] AUD$20.98 [Soldout - Pricing error]

21212

Only 10 pounds for complete series. This is the new version of Battlestar Galactica, not the old one from 1978.
Doesn't seem to include Battlestar Galactica: The Plan, but even so it is still a bargain for 10 pounds. It would be nice to have a box set which includes everything, but for such massive saving, I'm personally quite happy to get The Plan separately.

Enjoy.

MOD EDIT DEAL IS A MISTAKE. LOOKS LIKE ORDERS HAVE BEEN CANCELLED, THREAD IS NOW LOCKED.

If you want to have your say about Amazon and the way it treats customers with pricing errors go to the forums and if thread is there add your flames etc there. Or open a new thread if it hasn't been started.

According to a post in this thread Amazon does reserve the right to cancel orders if a pricing error occurs. Not saying its fair, but it does exist….

lol, thats the best one yet.

  • +4

    OMG!!!! It's back in stock………..for £89.99.

On a serious note: I'm actually surprised that a large company like this doesn't have the balls to email their customers saying they fudged up. Cancelling without ANY explanation is REALLY LAME, even though everyone pretty much knew it would happen. Jeez, even Dell sent an email! Amazon have set a new bar here…….just very very low.

    Awesome:

Your Amazon.co.uk order has dispatched (#203-9605523-6674317)

    Greetings from Amazon.co.uk,

We thought you would like to know that the following items have been sent to…

Maybe because I paid extra for Priority Express shipping, they didn't detect it?

Anyone else go for the express shipping option?

    • I didnt but mine worked too!

    • Thought about it but it was $30 or something extra. Gah, I'm such a cheapskate - even for $50 it would've been more than worth it! Kicking myself now.. Love BSG.. (second to Stargate!) and I just started buying blu-rays after scoring a PS3 Slim for $349. I don't suppose I could get a copy of the dispatch email? And screencaps of your order pages? I'm planning to fight nail and teeth for this! (However futile..)

Should update title with pricing error.

  • I bet amazon got a few thousand extra signups so they will be pretty happy.

  • BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

  • DOUBLE BOOOOOO! ehhh I guess a few years ago we would have won…but now…ehhh

  • +1

boo boo boo.. even a dodgy asian website (which had a similar pricing error) compensated with a 15% coupon. Honestly ,while I wasn't 100% surprise by this cancellation, I would have thought a reputable and large company like Amazon would have at least done something similar. Anyway -ve for me.

  • maybe it was an intentional bait'n'switch …

people buy battle star & other stuff to save on shipping
they cry 'it was an error, your battle star order's cancelled'
then they get to charge normal price for everything else … i wonder how many people ordered other stuff too?

    • Is that even legal? At the very least, they should send an e-mail to buyers asking if they still want other items rather than just remove one thing from their order but leave the rest there and charge them normal price for it. If they don't get a confirmation from a customer and just proceed with the rest of their orders, well that seems to be illegal to me.

  • I can't believe I missed on this one.

    Dear Customer

    Thank you for contacting Amazon.co.uk.

I have checked your account and found that you may have already received an e-mail from us regarding this item "Battlestar Galactica: The Complete Series".

We regret that the pricing error occurred and we are sorry that you are disappointed with our decision to cancel this item from your order #026-xxxxx

We hope you'll understand that we are unable to offer you any concession in relation to this matter.

I am sorry to learn that you wish to cancel the remaining items in this order.

Unfortunately, I was unable to cancel these items from your order, because the package had already entered the dispatch process and was ready to leave the Fulfilment Centre.

    ass hats.

    • +2

That is just plain wrong. Customer gets shafted, while they get to just cancel an item without any consequences to them for what was their massive mistake in the first place.
      Gotta love capitalism.

    • +1

      haha ass hats. Tough break.
