    This looks interesting:

This app will let you use Samsung's Gear 360 with other smartphones
    https://www.theverge.com/circuitbreaker/2016/7/11/12149426/sā€¦

Hope it works, cause I ordered the camera!

soon we will need separate thread to discuss this little gadget, tips tricks and ideas and q&a

    • lol didn't realise it didn't work with non-Samsung phones and bought it.

      • who said///// copy pasted from previous gear 360 deal

        To clarify:

Standalone: camera shoots 2x 180 degree fisheye images side by side onto a FAT32 microSD card, .jpg for stills, .avi MPEG-4 at 30fps for video. If you have the experience and software tools to work with those, it's usable with no other Samsung items.

Tethered wirelessly to a supported Samsung phone: the Samsung Gear Manager app lets you control the camera and see through its viewfinder. You can snap 360 stills, start and stop the video, change modes, transfer images to/from the camera for uploading to 360 image sharing services, Facebook etc. This app isn't great and hasn't received many updates (hey, it's Samsung) but does do the job of a remote shutter and back in the day I upgraded my Android phone to a Note 5 specifically so I could run it.

Tethered wirelessly to any Android or iPhone phone: you can connect via Wi-Fi and run Google StreetView to capture 360 stills at timed intervals. Put the Gear 360 on a monopod, hold it above your head, and pretend you are a Google StreetView car! Works well.

Connected to a PC (or Mac in BootCamp / virtual emulation): the included licensed PC software (nothing to do with Samsung) can import the fisheye format videos and stitch and edit them into full 360 degree equirectangular videos as used in VR applications. The resulting videos can be uploaded to YouTube or Facebook and viewed in a GearVR, Oculus, Vive, Daydream, etc, (or just just by panning with a finger or mouse on a 2D screen). Working with 360 video can be slow and tedious depending on your motivation.

and read all post in this thread

  • Great got the 360 cam, if I don't like it I should be able to just sell it for what I paid for it, did that with the VR headset and made an $8 profit haha

  • Samsung gear 360 almost gone. 2 left!

  • It's all gone! quick in the dead. Some broden bought 5 of them. Sharing is not caring I see.

    • Maybe they want 1800 degrees of video to search for an alternate dimension?

      The quick and the dead*

  • 360 Sold out

    360 camera is sold out

  • had the 360 in my cart, went to click confirm and it error'd out, damn you guys!

    • +1

      Me too! Spewing!!!

  • The problem is that the watch was toooo cheap for the people who have actually been wanting one.
If it was double that price it would have still sold :)

  • Can anyone recommend a good Micro SD card for this thing? Samsung Gear 360.

  • +1

360 has serious heat issues (just google it). So if u missed out its good.

    • Sounds like its if you video for more than 15 mins on one go, not a problem if just doing short videos or photos.

    • Thanks

  • What's this camera actually for? I looked at it earlier and then walked away. Is it for sports / action or for Youtube videos or surveillance?

  • This is something I don't understand. People are buying crazily without doing any research or think about if they actually need one. Come on, it's only 20% discount and people just jump on it! It's a crazy world!

We should get pay by Telstra to clean up its warehouse! It's a bargain only if you actually need one!

    • I don't think people need to research or care about it if they can on-sell it for 4x the price and that's what some people will do. 20% discount off a product listed 1/3 of the RRP is insane. People could still sell the camera for a profit also if it doesn't suit them.

      • You're right in this case!

        • yes it is just 20% but from VERY LOW price.
this is not 75% off after doubling the RRP price

    • This is something I don't understand. People are buying crazily without doing any research or think about if they actually need one. Come on, it's only 20% discount and people just jump on it! It's a crazy world!

But its a 360 camera - haven't you always wanted to try one :)

    • šŸ‘Œ

    • it's ozbargain, we buy first, think later!

    • Its not 20%, the coupon just makes an already low price lower.
Anyone who bought one can resell it unopened for a profit or at the very least money back if they have buyers remorse.

      (profanity) you Michell Huerta

  • If anyone willing to sell me the 360 at a similar price pm me!

    • same price?
but we wasting our time checking ozb and put order, plus losing interest of the $, and losing some adrenaline as well while waiting for the post to arrive

      • +1

not same price, similar price understand those factors you mentioned whether it was sarcastic or not, I don't expect the same, at the same time don't want to pay double :)

        • +1

ok let me play for a day or two. i dont have samsung phone but really want to have that cool 360degree photos.
always a fan of fish eyes so i think i will like 360degrees

Dammit, I wanted that damn camera. Damn Damn Damn

  • How does this compare with Moto 360

    • -5

Lol. Is that a serious question?

      • Yes, Moto 360 is a watch, comparable to the Huawei W1

    • The Huawei W1 will received Android Wear 2.0. The Moto 360 won't.

Also the Moto 360 is wireless charging, where as the W1 is contact pin charging.

    • I own both and believe the W1 is what the Moto gen 2 should have been.
It doesn't have the 'flat tyre' screen and is AMOLED. Always on display is very handy.
I personally have turned off the auto wake on hand movement, It improves battery life to almost 3 days.
The heart rate sensor seems more accurate and you can pick up calls from the watch.
My moto 360 scratched easily whereas the screen on the W1 curves in and does a good job to avoiding scratched.
I've been using android wear 2 and it's butter smooth, no lag issues.
My only gripe with the W1 is the charging dock, the magnets don't connect the pins properly. I find myself constantly adjusting it to charge.
IMO best looking android wear device to date.

I'm disappointed that the Smart Watch range hasn't really grown in the past few years. Not that many option available, especially in Australia.

        • agreed I was really looking forward to Huawei innovating with their 2nd watch but it is so disappointing the direction they took with it

  • -2

If anyone have spare smart watch, I'll happily buy and will pay $100.

    • lol why would someone sell it to you for $100 when they can sell it for $120 or more?

      • because he/she will play with it for a month and then resell for 150 and make quick $50 profit

    • 360 guy looks like the Sherminator.

  • To answer my own question, this took 34 minutes and 3 seconds to sell 29 units … and great that 2 people were able to buy 3x of them.

    Well done guys.

    OZBARGAINED

  • cant believe i have received the gear 360 few mins ago ie 9am
bought yesterday afternoon 12 oclock, im in sydney cbd 2000

    • Yep got mine too! In metro suburbs of Victoria.

Believe it or not, the watch was delivered already just 30 mins ago. That is 21h after I placed the order. Well done Telstra eBay!

  • OMG…i got it this morning already!! I am gonna give them a fking good feedback!!

    • +1

Yeah my camera came in on the morning StarTrack courier too.
Nice to see some Aus shops doing an A+ job.

Meanwhile Harvey still hasnt bothered to take my Chromecast from the shelf to the pickup desk…
I wonder which will survive the Amazon invasion better.

  • I got confirmation that the watch is on it's way.

  • Back in stock on ebay….

    • Hoping the watch comes back too.

  • Camera is well built apart from heating up issue. I can see why it overheats. The battery is in the middle of the thing surrounded by plastic and jam packed in. Other then that it's a great $133 spent. used it several times already. Decent quality recording especially for the low purchase cost.

    • tested mine too. pretty good gadget!
