2016 MacBook Pro 15" 256gb $2917.43+P&P @ iFrog (OW Price Match $2771.15+P&P) ~23%off

Well with the new 2017 version of the MBP's with the Kaby Lake processors releasing, merchants are starting to reduce the prices of the 2016 models as they reach the end of their cycle.

If you're not too fussed about the new processor, then purchasing a 2016 version can save you nearly 800$! Besides the processor upgrade from Skylake to Kaby Lake, the models are identical.
There's a few options I've seen, but iFrog seems to be the cheapest at the moment, and thus also Officeworks technically (Who are offering it at the clearance price of 3150 without any price matching FYI, but seems to be available to order online only, at least in WA).

Also, Myer has a similar price at 3014$ https://www.myer.com.au/shop/mystore/electrical/mac-all/macb…. Maybe this will be an alternative option if you want reward points through Myer, or would rather purchase physically, or if iFrog run out of stock.
If you'd rather purchase directly from Apple, the refurbished models are down to 3059$.
Vaya also has a similar price on eBay with the 20% off coupon but is a grey import so nowhere near as good a deal.

If you're patient, perhaps some more heavily discounted prices will come once stores actually start stocking the 2017 models? I don't think any stores have stock until next week.

You may also be able to get ~5% off gift cards for Officeworks or Myer if you have any memberships or anything that allow you to do so

Does anyone know if you can bargain at all with Myer? Maybe some stores you can get the price even lower considering it's at the end of its cycle?

*FYI, this price is for the standard/lowest specced 256gb MBP. MBP's with different specs are similarly discounted

I hope posting this deal doesn't come back to bite me lol. My 2010 MBP is reaching the end of its life, so it's time for me to upgrade to a new 15" model, but I won't have the funds to purchase one until the end of next week D: Fingers crossed I don't have to pay more than 2800 :P

  • wasn't it 35% off last night at myer ebay with ebay 15% off site wide deal? Or did myer take off the 15 inch model for that sale? I was kicking myself when i saw that myer had already reduced the 13inch price last night, but was wondering if 15inchers were included on the sale..

    • Not sure but I'd assume so. If it did happen to be on sale, it seems that only 1 person capitalised on such a bargain (for Apple terms ofc)

    You can try ;)

Barely, all 'bargains' would have to go through a supervisor since the companies financials are hidden from standard Myer sales-people (in comparison to somewhere like Super A-Mart where the salespeople have access to the companies cost-price(+10-15%)).

Ontop of that, Apple has some pretty insane guidelines retailers cannot break regarding pricing, discounts and deals. They are also only operating on razor thin margins compared to most other products.

TL;DR: If you have a chunk of spare time, give it a try :)
