JB Hi-Fi - PlayStation Plus 12 Month Membership $34.27

3300

JB Hi-Fi

PlayStation Plus: 12 Month Membership (Digital Download)

Offer available from June 9th

EDIT 1 (7:55am): It appears that you are no longer able to add the item to your cart.

EDIT 2 (8:10am): The page has been taken down and the link no longer working

EDIT 3 (3:30pm): JB Hi-Fi have replied via email to all purchasers of the discounted memberships. The transactions will be cancelled but as a good will gesture, they are offering a gift card valued at $14.70. Please note that if you have placed multiple orders you will only be entitled to the one gift card valued at $14.70.

This is a good outcome for those of us who did buy early this morning. Thanks to JB Hi-Fi for the gesture of a gift card. Well done guys… and please, go easy on whoever made the mistake. They've made everyone's long weekend just that little bit better. Cheers!

EDIT 4 (one week later): By now most who got in on this deal will have received not only one gift card from JB Hi-Fi but two gift cards. This was an added "bonus" but it meant you had to act fast. It allowed you to get a yearly membership to Playstation Plus for only $19.57!!! Two days later and JB Hi-Fi were cancelling these second cards. Several people have now said their second cards are no longer working. Anyway, it was a fun ride. Hope it worked out well for you.

    • If they talk to Sony ,sony would wear it …..

  • Mine went through paid with debit card. See what happens…

  • +1

    Finished now

  • Somebody is panicking at JB HQ and just made it unable to be added to cart rather than fix the price :P
Annoying, 30 seconds late because I had to activate my gift card ><
Hopefully codes get sent out for everyone else!

  • +1

Ordered but good luck doubtful we'll get anything.

    1. CANCELLATION OF ORDERS

7.1 JB Hi-Fi reserves the right to cancel, at any time before delivery and for whatever reason, an Order that it has previously accepted. JB Hi-Fi may do this for example, but without limitation, where:

    (a) JB Hi-Fi’s suppliers are unable to supply Goods that they have previously promised to supply;

    (b) an event beyond JB Hi-Fi’s control, such as storm, fire, flood, earthquake, terrorism, power failure, war, strike or failure of computer systems, means that JB Hi-Fi is unable to supply the Goods within a reasonable time;

    (c) Goods ordered were subject to an error on the Website, for example, in relation to a description, price or image, which was not discovered prior to the Order being accepted;

  • Its almost 8am, so the stores must be opening and the IT guys are panicking… hence its over. Lets hope our orders get honored and we get the codes!

  • +1

Can't add to cart - looks like it's over!

  • +1

Let us hope we get these codes. Shoutout to OP for making my Friday.

I was on the fence about getting a PSPlus subscription because I am absolutely terrible at online games and have no friends but figured since Tekken 7 is out, why not.

  • +1

    Holy shit.

I was 100% I would never resub to PS+, but 30 odd bucks is just too good.

    Cheers, OP!

Edit: Seems to be dead. :'(

    • +3

      Holy shit.

      Click first, post later!

      • I saw the link was live, hit add to cart, and came back to give thanks. Then found out it was gone and went back to change post.

Figured that was better than straight up changing it to "Gone now, (profanity) life"

  • +1

    It's all over red rover:

"The page you were after lived a good and happy life, but now it is no longer with us. That's ok though, because we have thousands more that are alive and just as great."

Looks like their web guys are out of bed :(

    • Still up for me.

      • Good luck

      • Still up, but adding to cart doesn't work. I Should've bought two 10 minutes ago! Nooooo

  • Had in cart 🛒 but

Sorry, PlayStation Plus: 12 Month Membership (Digital Download) is no longer available and needs to be removed.

  • Page just went down

  • RIP

  • They've caught up. It's gone! Just when I was about to buy :(

  • Is this avail in store?

    • Predicting they will fix price to $48.95. Maybe cards will be same price in-store

      • Seems they did, fix the price but didn't expect them to honour a single purchase at the lower price 👍

  • -8

So why would this be removed if not even available for 1 business hour? Haha… This is as good as 5c for a 2L carton of milk…good for a very small amount of people.

    • +7

good for a very small amount of people.

      3628 clicks.

from 2am to 7am, pretty good number of people.

      • -1

        Clicks. Key word there.

      • -5

        So many unemployed people!

        • I'm self employed and get up at 5am, a lot of people I know who are employed are up and at em before 7am.

        • My youngest woke from a nightmare at 3am. What brilliant timing that was - checked ozbargain. Sold PSN!

        • I work regular hours, I was awake at 12:38am when it first got posted elsewhere on Whirlpool.
I was still awake when it got posted here. I was still awake at 3am. Apparently you're the centre of the universe, and all should be like you or they must be unemployed.

  • +1

Really good price. It was much cheaper to use the USA PSN for a long long time originally. Be nice to see deals for that too.

  • I know they CAN cancel orders due to an error but it would be a dick move to cancel everyone's orders

    • If it was maybe 10-20 people they would but not when its been ozbargained to probably 300+ :(

  • I paid with PayPal and received a failed verification email😡

  • If you are quick you could go in store and see if they will price match their website. I did that last week with their Xbox live gold deal

    • +1

Not on the site anymore so unlikely to work. They've taken the page down.

  • +1

    Fingers crossed everyone

  • +6

1 year PS Plus is $35 at Indonesian PSN.

You get everything except the cloud storage in your aussie account after setting indonesian account as primary.

The site is legit and I discovered it through Ozbargain when Indonesian Store made a pricing error on WR6 by selling it for just AUD $8 at launch.

People that are downvoting think I am scamming or something?

  • +1

EB honoured the deals when they listed a bunch of newish games for ~$10 when it they were meant to be ~$40, and I'm sure they lost a ton of money through that mistake. So you never know, maybe JB will eat the costs of the error. Probably not, but hey, here's to hoping.

    • +20

Someone sounds salty he missed it

    • +8

What is there to lose? You either get the deal or they refund your money, probably with some kind of discount voucher as a apology if it's the latter.

  • Nearly 4000 clicks, good luck everyone.

  • I'm just tired of business' not taking responsibility for their own stuff ups.
But I'm not going to be surprised if they don't honour it because of their get out of jail free card. I work for woolies and if a ticket is wrong we still give it to the customer

    • Give one to the customer and adjust the price right away…this is a different case.

  • +1

Just got paypal confirmation 6 hours after order. Guess they are honouring the deal!

    • If you read closely it will probably say:

Your funds will be transferred when the merchant processes your payment.

I don't think JB have sent any codes yet.

      • Still says depending on my side

  • Didn't bother as I don't think they will honour this

  • +7

Took the screen shot of the deal into JB HIFI this morning. They honoured the discount.

    • +5

      Nice!!

Any chance you can upload your receipt please?

  • Just got my "Payment authorized through paypal" confirmation so im actually hoping the pricing will be honoured.

  • Just came from a store and the staff there reckoned that purchases on the pricing error would be honoured as they haven't received any advice from HQ otherwise.

Current price now scans at $48.95 but as someone here already proved, the deal can be honoured if shown to the staff. So I guess the onus is on being able to prove it happened.

    • There would have been shed loads of orders placed but it's only a $14 or so discrepancy per unit.

To keep customers you'd think they'd honour the sale on this occasion. Costs more to attract customers than to keep them :)

Edit: they did more than $4.3 billion in trade last year. Profit forecasts this time around expected to me more than $110 million. Those figures alone suggest margins are tight across the board though.

  • +3

Screen grab of the discounted price if you want to try your luck to price match in store.

  • +1

They took the money out of my PayPal almost straight away, but 4 hours later and still no codes. I ordered 2.

    • +1

I haven't had anything show up yet despite getting order confirmation. I might look at my paypal and see

    • Status saying the payment is pending. I hope they allow the order to go through.

  • Just called my JB, they said they wouldn't honour it. :(

  • +2

Considering how long this is all taking, I'm thinking our orders are going to be cancelled… which is definitely disappointing.

    • +1

JB may need to acquire more codes from Sony to fulfil orders given they would have sold beyond expectation?

  • +2

Finally got PayPal verfification maybe they're coming

  • +2

If you have received a PayPal authorization, I believe that is just PayPal saying that if or when JB wants to process the order, the money will be made available. It isn't saying that JB have accepted payment.

    • Ah is that it, I thought once you received PayPal receipt that was merchant accepting payment. Thanks for clearing that up

    • what happens if JB does not process the order? do we get a refund? Did you buy?

      • +1

I tried to buy via PayPal. No PS+ code…

PayPal authorization received but JB has yet to process it. If they decide to cancel the sale then the funds are not transferred and can be returned to your credit card or PayPal account.

However, I'm still hoping that they will honour the deal.

        • oh, on the same boat then.

  • +1

JB have been known to honour price errors in the past, still using my Sony powerbank from this deal.
Hopefully they continue the trend with this deal.

  • I got really excited too when it said PalPal confirmation but then read it and realized they're just teasing me now and getting my hopes up! Lol
    Here's hoping though!

  • Still no code.

    • +3

That's completely false. If it's a genuine pricing error, they have every right to cancel your order and issue a refund.

      • -5

        I disagree.

    • +2

      Great.

Can you provide the clause in the legislation so I can take it up with JB?

      • See my example.

    • To use Lysander's words from the $1 online game sales a few years ago:

At the risk of upsetting a lot of people:

If you have ordered, received a confirmation e-mail and JB has taken payment there is a legally binding contract. even if they do not have stock, they must get new stock for you, even if they make a loss doing so. They only way to get out of it if the item does not physically exist anymore, for example a painting which obviously cannot be reordered or remade or bought elsewhere.
With the items JB sells this is never the case.

To enforce such a contract, you need not go to court, depending on what state you are in. In Queensland for example, you can go the Queensland Civil and Administrative Tribunal (QCAT).
It will cost about $23 to file a claim, no lawyers allowed which means there is no costs risk.

In my experience, retailers settle claims in the compulsory mediation beforehand as they do not want to risk an official proceeding and a judgment against them as that sets a precedent which others can rely on.

Easy to do and for those of you that ordered several games, it is definitely worthwhile. They either have to supply the games or pay the differences between what you would have paid had they been able to supply the items and the price you must pay to obtain the games from other shops.
Most likely they will order the stock and supply themselves to keep you as potential customer.

Personally, every time I have used QCAT in these circumstances, the claim got settled, I got my items and the retailer had to pay the filing fee of $23. Takes about 15 to prepare the claim, and then the conference takes an hour or so (can be done by telephone).

  • +5

Sure is a long meeting they are having to make a decision on this one way or another…

  • Oh noo I slept early and woke up late!and missed the plane/boat/car

  • If they cancel, what do you think.. mass complaint emails??? Lol

  • Page is back, but with a price of $48.95

  • I think the question is ….if JB HIFI has decided to accept the loss…

Not sure what discount they get for selling PSN cards….if its 20% they should already approved it long time ago….if its less than 10% maybe thats why they are looking at the total loss…

number of PSN sales onsite x 34.27

Looking at the +ve vote of 287 people, lets say 10% of people only voted
    = 2870 sales x $34.27 = $98 354

    minus actual price
    = 2870 sales x $48.95 =$140 486

a difference 0f $42 132 hmmm ok thats worth a value to decide (amount not less their comission)
