    • plus postage and handling

  • these guys are awesome

  • Brilliant !! Now got me a pair specs for the morning, before the lenses go in, for 15$

  • +1

i cant find where the frames are on the website??

  • Handling and Insurance $7.08

Can I get rid of that?

    • yep
fly to Hong Kong and pick them up yourself :)

      • Hong kong? In previous promotions glasses were shipped from Canada…

    • No, you cannot.

  • Doesn't work on sunglasses?

    • Pick a frame from glasses section then select Single Vision, SPH 0.00 and select Sunglass Tints for $19.95 extra. That comes to $36.38 for a pair of sunglasses.

  • Website overloaded.

    Thanks.

    needed some dark tinted glasses.

Just so People know, P&H&insurance to melbourne was ~$16

    • Yep, just got a pair and came to mention the same, assuming you don't want the courier option. Delivery date, 27th.

  • Ordered, done thanks guys!

  • i tried this - Joseph Marc 4021 Green .. and used the FREE4FACEBOOK coupon code. but it doesnt work.. why?

    • I guess they were sold out.

    • there are some exclusions

    • I just got the exact same ones and it worked fine.

  • +1

Awesome. Just got a pair of levi's for $15.

    • Same here, those Levi's look awesome.

      • where do we put the coupon code? does the field come up after the shipping delivery details?

        • yes it does.

  • Ordered - If these glasses go off without a hitch they will have me as a customer for life. I love their no questions asked return option.

  • wish i knew it was based overseas. with a .com.au domain i thought it was in australia and ended up getting charged currency conversion fees etc last time and it was shipped from the USA. if i knew i would have used my wizard cc to avoid the fees.they should tell on the website where the cc processing will be done before you place the order. anyway i cant complain the glasses were very cheap about $17 last time.

    • I got another pair from them last time and the basic lens quality is acceptable.

  • might want to change the title… sounds like free P + H as well…

but good promo =D like it how it is australia wide now

  • Cool, paid extra for the transitional. I bought a pair from them a few months ago and they were exactly what I wanted.

  • Great deal, ordered a pair of marc jacob ones… for $17 each :)

    • Can you buy more than one?

      • Technically no. But……

        • I C, with glasses the same address?

      • Yes you can. simply change your email, your name, you address and your payment method, otherwise, your orders might be cancelled. But I dont think it is worth to obtain more than one pair.

    • hey how did you get a pair of marc jacob for $17? I thought all branded ones?

  • Can I just buy the glasses without prescription? I cannot check out :(

    • +1

just pop out the lens after you've received them

      • hi, thanks, but then I have no lenses? just the frame?

        • I guess you can choose 0.00 instead of without prescription.

did you apply coupon code and is it validated when you check out? Oherwise you have to pay full price for them.

  • EPIC

  • +2

Such a coincidence, just when i was thinking of getting glasses also.

  • I tried to order some glasses just then, put in the promotional code and it only gives me a discount.

Not sure what I am doing wrong but it's saying I still owe $109 for a glasses

    • did you buy more than one pair or you chose transitions lenses? If in that way, you have to pay for that extra expense.

    • +3

what? you neg a deal because you have to pay a small shipping charge? It is written in the description!

Do you realise how much this would cost you in a shop? $300+ once they add all the antiscratch/uv/glare options.

    • Its written clearly that the offer does not include Postage and Handling.

    • Thanks. I've amended the title to make it clearer that P&H is to be paid and is not free.

I'd recommend the report button, next time, as a better way to let us know there is a problem with the way a deal has been written though. It just leaves a message on a Mod only noticeboard, for us to check.

      :)

      • Cool a report button.

This is still in Freebies, by the way. Which was why I gave it a negative…

        • Thanks. Removed freebie tag.

        • Next time you should explain yourself better.

  • Damn.. not valid for branded sunglasses -(

  • depends on the brand

  • I just bought glasses, but i purchased without putting any payments details. So what happens now? Are they going to send the glasses to my house anyway, even though i haven't paid yet?

Cause it says, they will send payments details along with the product to my house.

    • yes, just waiting till you receive your glasses, then you pay for them…

    • +1

I did not notice this option at checkout. How does that work?? COD?

      • It says, once you receive the glasses, i think there is an invoice that comes with it, and you can pay over the phone or through post office.

      • credit card, cheque or money order.

    • how did u do that???

  • great deal, thanks for posting this OP.

  • Dam, if only i knew what to fill in the Eye prescription section lol

  • always ask for a copy of your prescription from the opto. They generally don't give it to you unless you ask to get you to go back to the same shop.

    • Yeh I should have, I go to the same one every year and nothing changes with my eyes so never bothered to get it…lesson learned!

  • just bought a pair. Thanks :)

  • Awesome thanks OP, grabbed mine!

  • free 0 prescription glasses? i put my prescription in and it ended up with $140 on the bill

    • lucky my eyes are -0.50 then ;P

      • true i just saw the free lens is capped on 1.5index lens…bl me

  • Did you check the ineligible frames list?

i got some 'phat farms'! :)

last page showed ~ $120. put the discount code in.
    $16!!
    bargain.

  • i think it's sold out. I don't see the promo code box anymore

    • there is always a promo code box. You need to be able to put in the other codes they have like free shipping or free with contacts ect.

      • ok cheers

  • looks like as they run out of stock the frames come off the website, makes sense i guess, now i cant rememeber what my glasses looked like!?

  • Possible to get a type of sunglasses?

    • pick your frames in the glasses section then add the sunglases tint. It will cost you an extra $20 (i did this myself).

I got lenses with transitions from these guys before but they dont tint while driving which is rather annoying.

  • just ordered the Levi's 534 3 Grey and put my prescription as -1.00 for both left and right (i definitely know it is thereabouts). i called my optometrist and she said she would e-mail my prescription to me, but it's been an hour and i can't wait any longer (in fear of the promotion running out!). hope these turn out alright.

    good find. thanks.

  • I dont understand why they would just give glasses away for free? Especially ones that cost $100+

    • +1

Part of the answer is the frames costing them no more than $5 each (they are old models), the lenses cost them about $1 each, because they are the cheapest anti-reflection coating lenses on the market - like what specsavers use), and part is it's an easy way to get into our consciousness. We'll always remember that they "gave" us a free pair of glasses, so we'll store in the back of our mind that we "owe" them.

      Hope that helps

      • The frames cost less than $5 each???

        • Crappy frames and run outs can be bought for this price. Most reputable optometrists stay well clear of them, because the quality tends to be much less and there are no spare parts in the event of breakage. When they were brand new, they could have been $100 or $200, but if no one wants them, they are close to worthless, and it's usually the Merringtons (if you remember them), Optical Superstore, and online stores that snap them up at this bargain price. If you will notice, virtually none of the frames on sale through clearlycontacts are available in normal retail stores.

          • @shmahoo: But as a spare pair they are great you get the lenses for the price of postage. So who cares… Optometrist only say things like that because they getting pushed out of the market by budget specs and now Big W. If they break who cares in the end they are only glasses

          • @shmahoo: When i got my first 2 pairs from these guys (well actually coastalcontacts.com same thing) they had some that i had seen in shops, converse was one that i remember. Same one in the shops but far cheaper online.

I ended up getting 2 ltede frames and they have been great.

  • The 5000 pairs are gone? I've got "Coupon Code not found"

    • -2

Doesn't matter. You still can use their "AUFREEPAIR199" to get a FREE one.

      • And how do you justify your negative vote?

      • i dont understand your negative vote? please read the voting guidelines.

  • sweet.

  • Just Great. Where was this offer last week when I lost my glasses. So much for my hard decision last week to choose between two frames I liked - Oh well I have a second pair spare now with this offer.

  • coupon still works though they don't do pisms so will never buy from them maybe I will just get a free frame

    • What do you mean, they don't do PISMS?

      • meant prisms in the lenses

  • still waiting for my optomitrist to give me my prescription details!!

  • Ordered a Gucci for my missus - she'll have a surprise waiting for her on the 27th!

    • how did u get Gucci? I can't when I chose the branded ones.

  • there is only one pair of gucci that you can use the coupon with they are Gucci 2947 Crystal Floral Blue, thinking about getting these myself :) . Any that say Coupons not applicable will not work.
I got a pair of Joseph Marcs last time Clearly Contacts were offering them for free and was very happy with them

  • just put my order through wooooooooooo. just went to my optomitrist to get my prescription details. had no idea what they were 3 lots of numbers and 3 boxes to fill in. hope i got it right !

  • Bugger it says coupon has reached it's limit :(

  • I'm still waiting for mine. It's been more than 4 weeks now. I sent them a few emails, they asked me for more details but no answer for the last email for 5 days now. It's been lost in the mail and already paid delivery fee. I'll see how it goes but seems very slow if something goes wrong. Glasses are coming from US not Australia. Was thinking to order some contacts as well, but got to think twice now.

    • Yeah they come from the US. I got the ones I ordered a month ago in a week. Was really quick.
