    • I had one of my orders lost as well. Best to call them up as they sent another order with FedEx (note to another address). Resolved within a few days.

I TRIED ORDERING GLASSES FROM THEM AND END UP HAVING MY CREDIT CARD COMPANY CALLING ME SEVERAL TIMES SAYING THAT THIS COMPANY HAS BILLED 5 TIMES ON MY ACCOUNT. and out of this 5 TIMES. 3 ORDERS ARENT MINE, an amount totaling to about 300. THEIR SECURITY SYSTEM IS OBVIOUSLY NOT SECURE AND THIS IS GIVING ME A LOT OF PROBLEMS FROM MY CREDIT CARD COMPANY. I WILL URGE U ALL TO BE WARY WHILE ORDERING FROM THEM, unless u want to risk your credit card being billed a few hundred bucks then yea go ahead.

Sorry to hear, but still no need to SHOUT. Quite happy with the 'pay after delivery' option. Great price for a spare pair.

      • sorry to shout. just furious.

      • sorry to shout. just furious.

that reminds me, this happened to a friend of mine as well. He was charged three times for the one job. Credit card company was good about it, but it's still a hassle and annoying and a bit scary to have to ring up the credit card company to organise.

    • Why didn't you use the 'Checkout and pay later' option?

      • Thought I would be nice and "pay up" first since so many have ordered and e website looks trustworthy. Well lesson learnt.

    • please note, using paypal as far as possible and always choose pay after receive。

      • whr is that option?

  • +2

    I used paypal thankfully.

  • New code is working. Order 2 pairs at same address…

  • Thanks for the new code! Missed out this arvo because my prescription was at home!

  • Ordered the safety glasses :) Took forever to measure my PD.

I don't think the company will accept the new code orders. This is because that code is meant to be for people whom orders contacts to the value of 199. That is when they send you a free pair of glasses (view main page for this detail) But best of luck to those that do put in the order, because they might reject your order @ a later date

  • What codes are you guys using? Im using FREE4FACEBOOK and it says coupon has reached its limits.

    • Nevermind, clearly i need glasses as i missed the new code :)

  • Anyway just ordered Levi's 512 2 Blue…

  • AUFREEPAIR199 doesn't work anymore?

  • Code doesn't work anymore! tested 5 mins ago. Dang! I really needed a new pair too :(

The original code worked yesterday. The new code is completely wrong. The following is the message from ClearlyContacts blog:

AUSTRALIA: Highest quality eye care products at the guaranteed lowest prices anywhere on the globe. With your next order of contacts over $199, you are eligible to receive a FREE pair of prescription eyeglasses! Simply add $199 or more of contact lenses to your cart, then select an eligible frame, enter your eyeglasses prescription details and use code AUFREEPAIR199 at checkout.

It means you have to buy purchase an order over $199 to get the free pair.

  • got an e-mail and this is what it said, among other things:
"We regret to inform you that we are unable to complete your glasses order (31858792) because it did not qualify with the terms and conditions of our free glasses promotion:…."

looks like i'm not getting my glasses.

    • Which code did you use

    • Same. I haven't received my refund yet … Should have chosen the pay later option >_<

      • Which code did you guys use? Did you use the original facebook code but with an address that had already received a free pair previously?

        • I used the facebook code but didn't read the fine print. I got a free pair last time. Just haven't received my postage refund so waiting on that, which you'd expect to be processed at the same time as when they cancel the order.

          • @hellothankyou: i used the facebook code as well. same story on the fine print. same story on the postage refund. i want my money back. they should've done it the same time as the cancellation.

            • @ltwo: serves you right for being greedy someone else now missed out coz you tried to get 2

              • @aussman: tried to get 2? do you even know what you're talking about? i was ordering it for someone else.

            • @ltwo: So it looks like they really do enforce the one per household limit.

              • @atlas: I don't think they enforce that rule that strictly. My housemate and I both ordered one each and our shipping address was the same. We both got the email today that our order has been shipped!

  • They have cancelled mine before and it took over a week to get refunded. After 7 days i emailed them to make sure i was getting refunded and a couple of days later got a reply and the next day got the refund. Now i use the check out without payment option.

  • That was fast, got an email this morning to say my order has been shipped!

    • Yep same here.

  • Got an email saying that my order has been shipped, maybe in a day or two I will get it.
    Btw, I used the code - AUFREEPAIR199 :)…

  • Anyone got their's so far?

  • nope, mine was shipped on 15th, still not received it yet. Hopefully by Monday/ Tuesday.

  • Just received my glasses! Well, I must say I'm a little disappointed. The Joseph Marc frame feels kinda plastic-y and flimsy, even though the website said it's metal. But then again, I only paid P&H and not the full price. So…

    • When was your's shipped?

      • It was shipped on 16 September. The one my flatemate ordered was shipped out 1 day before mine, but hers hasn't arrived. Weird..

        • Thanks!

Is the delivery signed-for? or is it just the regular airmail, with parcel left in the mailbox?

          • @sacs2k1: I didn't have to sign for it, so I think it's regular mail. My housemate is getting impatient. The postman has already delivered the letters for today but she still hasn't received her spectacles. Poor thing..

            • @polkadots610: Mine were shipped on 16th as well and nothing so far!

              Well tomorrow's another day!

              • +1

@sacs2k1: Got my Gucci's today - quality looks great. Comes with Gucci case and cleaning cloth.

And guess what - they also included a gift card that entitles me (or my friend) for another pair of FREE glasses!

                • @sacs2k1: Yep same here. I've got 2 gift cards now since this was my second time ordering off them :P (first time I paid for glasses though)

  • I've got mine shipped on 15, and received it 27 sept, all good, I love the case, it's Coach brand. Happy with the glasses. Thanks for great deals.

    • Received mine today as well.

  • Is it worth watching the video and reading some of the comments on this page http://aca.ninemsn.com.au/article.aspx?id=8077251 ?

This was such a crappy story (in my opinion) - knowing what I do about the optometry industry, when I watched this story I was flabbergasted. If this is the case, then this makes me doubt any of their stories on any other industry, if they are as poorly or lazily researched (just a puff piece for "Dr" Peter Larsons and Specsavers)

    • Ha! I laughed when that ophthalmologist said that getting the right pair of glasses is an intensive process that requires an experienced person to fit them. When I bought a pair of glasses a while ago from HCF Eyecare, there was nothing 'intensive' about it. The only help I got from the 'experienced' ones was their opinion on whether the frame suited me, lol! Then I just bought it and waited for the lenses to be made.

A lot of the other online stores sell crap frames but the 2 pairs I've bought from clearlycontacts are great. First pair cost me $50 and $15 for the pair of Levi's I got during this promotion. Can't complain.

    • +1

any 'consumer information' done on ACA or today tonight are just infomercials…. "helping you buy better"
The sock-puppetry in the comments about the video is just laughable

      • I think the ban and extreme vigilance against sock-puppetry here in ozbargain land is one of the best things ever !

  • Got mine today with voucher for a free pair of glasses woohoo

    • Looks like we all get a voucher as well. Whats the bet we cant use it ourselves tho. They will say we have already had a free pair.

I would also bet they have tracked the cards against who they have sent them to. If you try and use these yourself, or to a different address using the same prescription details they will cancel the order.

  • Does anyone know if the cost of these glasses can be claimed from Medibank Private?

    • Bump - anyone? I got a receipt today, and for insurance purposes they provide their ABN number but no provider number…

  • Got mine today, very happy with the quality, thanks!
