i picked up two, only $10 delivery charge for both.

  • Would this fit a DJI Mavic?

  • It's the compact version so it's smaller than the larger dry red 5. Ordered mine last week. Available in stores as well. It's a good bag for commute to work.

  • I've been looking to spend almost $100 on a small bag for my laptop, for quite a while now. Looks like this might be my chance.

the compact is often on ebay already at $125 inc delivery, BUT it's the bigger one for 15" laptops that is rarely on super specials ….. lowest is $195.

we own 2 of the dry red 20.itre versions.

the compact is very small if you get a chance to see them side by side ….. smaller than my sons junior school back pack.

desiign and quality wise they are the best laptop back packs you can buy.

  • I want to like this backpack, but there just seems something ridiculous about having a zip for an expensive laptop on the side of a backpack… if you forget to zip thata thing up, your laptop is toast

    • I guess it depends on how much you throw your bag around, but I got to work one day the other week and found the side zip on mine undone. Laptop didn't fall out - maybe I was just lucky.

      • Yeah it's actually quite a snug fit in there. I'm more worried if the laptop is shoved in there while on standby or still on. It'd probably set the bag on fire.

  • This bag is too heavy.

  • Any good for DSLR and a bit of kit, like a 70-200mm (large) lens?

Been needing a new bag, so I was glad when I saw this post. I live near an actual crumpler shop, so went over there this morning. Ended up purchasing a bag. But I didn't get this one. The main reason was that it didn't have a water bottle pocket/holder.

The bag I ended up getting is pretty much similar to this, it's called the Pork Chop. It took me 15mins to decide whether the water bottle holder was really important to me (amongst the othe slight changes). In the end, I decided it was. The bag I got was $145 (marked down from $299), so it was more expensive than the Dry Red No.5. But I'm happy with my purchase.

I tried both bags, they weren't heavy. Zips felt sturdy. The back and the straps had padding and was super comfortable. Water repellent, the sales assistant even did a demo and poured water on the bag and you just see the water dribble down. The bag on its own isn't "heavy" but it does have some weight to it.
