120

For limited time the Optus Fusion $129 plan is available for $99. Includes line rental, and "unlimited" : local, interstate, mobile calls to all networks, and 50 Gig broadband. Free installation, two year contract. Extremely good value, especially with a few teenagers in the house.

It says new customers only, is there any way for an existing customer to get on it?

just about to ask the same thing…

    • yes, you can. My friend upgraded from his existing 99 dollars plans to this one. Same money involved, but contract started from this month for 24 months.
Talk to their call center. ( wait for more than 45 minutes ;)

    I hate Optus.

Excellent value if you use your home phone ALOT, but in terms of internet quite poor considering for half the price you can get 4x the data with TPG. Note that if you're not a heavy phone user but still want an Optus service, you can combine the home starter cap and the 150gb broadband (75+75) plan for the same price, with no contract (month to month).

    • even if you are a heavy phone user, voip would still be cheaper

Yeah… Depends on usage I guess.

I pay $65/month for 170GB/month of Exetel ADSL2+ (Telstra network) and I have VoIP through MyNetFone where I call wherever I like for 10c/call minus mobile calls. If you factor in I pay $20/month for mobile with TPG and $21/month for Telstra Line rental I'm actually paying $106/month but I get 120GB/month extra. This is on an exchange where only Telstra occupy. So in other words if you are lucky enough to have other telcos in your exchange you can most likely get all this and more for less. But for a family it's probably good value provided 50GB/month is enough as everything is bundled, no ugly surprises.

I won't +1 this deal as to me personally saving $7/month isn't "bargain material" but I suppose it'd be a good deal or even a bargain to some readers.

Couldn't resist commenting that I am using exactly the same services! Exetel/Telstra, MyNetFone and TPG. Makes me feel better, knowing that I must have chosen the right operators if other cheapskates are with them too. Only difference is that I am on the $1 plan with TPG as I rarely use my mobile for normal calls.

      • Hehe yep I'm another cheapskate :)
I don't make a lot of calls so my combination of VoIP & Mobile well and truly cover me. I think this deal appeals to the family with a few teenagers. 50GB/month seems a little small for a family but given it wasn't long ago many families lived with 3GB/month limits maybe 50GB is able. My 170GB/month is shared between a few people and I wouldn't want less :)

  • Man! Just signed up for this damn plan!

    • there might (should??) be a cooling off period if you want to change?

  • Confusing, it says 'Unlimited Standard Calls to Optus GSM Mobiles within Australia'
But next line says 'Standard Calls to non-Optus GSM mobiles within Australia' without the word 'Unlimited'

  • hmm
This seems like a good bundle :D
Changing from Telstra doesn't require a phone number change though right?

  • Hi got the wife to ring today as we are on this plan and ask if we could get the $99 price. $30 per month price difference is a lot of money over a year! They guy said they were getting lots of calls about this and it would be offered to existing customers in a couple of days for $99 a month. He implied that we would not have to sign a 24 month contract (we are not on an existing contract). He took our number and said that when it was available they would call back (that bit seemed a bit strange). Over at whirlpool forum a couple of people have indicated that they have already been able to swap over from their existing paln to $99 per month but needed to make the 24 month commitment. http://forums.whirlpool.net.au/forum-replies.cfm?t=1527917&p… Agree that you can get cheaper with regards to amount of data, but for us, a big family with teenagers, my wife loves the landline and the fact that the kids can make mobile calls to their friends and we don't have to stress when the bill comes at the end of the month. My mum has even come over a couple of times to make interstate calls.

    • could you please let us know what happens with this? As i commented below, i'm in the same position however they just re-contracted us for the 24 months.

  • If you don't make more than 150 calls/500 minutes to AUS MOBILE and TPG DSLAM is available, you can surely take these plans

    TPG landline+500GB ADSL2+ =$59.99
    Pennytel Crazytalk Plan =$18.88

    Total cost $78.87 gives you
1.Unlimited FREE calls to Australia*, Canada, China, Singapore, the UK* and the USA

2.Free 150 calls or 500mins (whichever comes first) to Australian Mobiles every month.

  • Without MOBILE calls,

    iiNet has landline + 200 GB + unlimited local/national calls = $89.95

  • It does say 24 month contract new customers on the page for it

If it was no contract i would jump on this

  • I was on the same plan at 129 per month and have been swapped over to the 99 per month after calling but it is a new 24 month contract. It will be effective on next billing. Definitely already available to existing customers.

  • I am on thier $99 fusion plan, and i have been for nearly 2 years. I cant wait for my contract to expire. I find the 20GB plan is too small, and to top it off, they now have this plan and yet they dont upgrade existing customers to this plan either.. It makes me very sad

  • The thing I wonder about these huge, cheap plans is why on earth were we paying so much for all those years?

  • I rang Optus today and although we are 6 months into $129 contract, they are happy to keep me on the same plan, but give me a $30 credit each month. Great value.

Mooman, I would have thought that they could put you on 50 Gig plan for the same price. Did you ring them?

  • I upgraded from the 99 fusion to this offer, but they re-contracted us for 2 years (we'd been out of contract for about a year)…is there a way of getting the offer without re-contracting?

  • random213, were you on the 'free mobiles to only optus gsm' $99 plan or the 'free mobile to any gsm' $99 plan (ie the old plan or the new plan.)

    • the old one with free calls to any gsm (so essentially we're upgrading for the extra 30gb net only)

      • ok thanks, even in two years this will be good value - so i guess Mooman above can upgrade if he wants to with a contract

  • what happens at the end of the 24 month contract - will they keep charging you $99 or will it automatically go back to $129?

  • I'm also on the $99 fusion with the 20Gb, but I still have like 6 months left on my contract, can I upgrade to this without any cancellation fees?

    • You can upgrade without cancellation fees but you will have to restart the 24month contract. I just did it with my $129 down to this. I'm happy with it.

      • oh serious? I just called then and the guy on the phone said I can't upgrade to that since I still have a few months left on my contract, I'll call again later.

        • Alright, just called back, and it was all sorted, was able to upgrade.
