WA here & you speak the truth my friend:)

What specific route(s)/date(s) are exactly $1215.00?

  • +1

I'm intrigued which part is business? I bet it's not the LA->Aus leg

    • The least likely would be the Virgin Atlantic legs IMO, assuming VA are selling it (they would have to buy the business fares off the other airline).

Just one example of the $1215 price. Thanks

How much is it elsewhere? What specific dates is it available?

Have a look at deals by I Want That Flight who give actual examples (and receive upvotes), unlike these deals.

Mods, when are travel agents going to get the ban hammer for posting what is essentially advertising here without any real specifics or examples of how it is a deal?

    • +3

Agreed! It's like their ads on tv.. I get really annoyed with the "FROM" fares as it almost always never works out to that!

  • During the spring school holidays there are flights to London in business all the way on Singapore airlines for a bit over $6k return, if you know where to look. Browse and book online, none of the hassle of emailing someone who may or may not get back to you. I never heard back from flight centre during the last round of business class offers.

    What are the blackout dates?

  • +1

I hope the business class flights are all on the way back home.
Nobody wants to go on business flight then have to go back down to economy hahaha
    I can only dream….

I lucked out on getting the round the world business class for Virgin from the previous deal - the Ozbargain said $3100 PP roughly and it cost us $3400 PP to suit our dates - we were delighted. For that one you had to walk into a Flight Centre and work out the dates with the travel agent. The guy was excellent and spent at least an hour going through our dates and working out what flights worked. The problem with giving examples is that the flight availability is generally limited so any specific dates may not be available when booking time comes and then people get annoyed they didn't get the lowest flight. I don't know about the OP here but I would be going directly into a travel agent and asking about this one, if you are actually interested.

    • I emailed flight centre and got economy flights for $1398 after the earlier sale, and my dates were slightly outside of the "ideal" price. They can hold seats for ~24h

      • Yeah, when we met with the guy from Flight Centre he did similar so we could confirm we could get leave for the appropriate dates. In our case the "hold" was a $200 deposit - not sure if this was because of the type/cost of tickets but we were pretty sure it would be OK and we really didn't want to miss this one. In our case with the deposit you can still change the dates, but once you pay for them you can't without, probably, a big penalty.

        • I think it's about a $300 change fee + flight centres additional fee for mine. Your business ones might be more flexible.

        • @Lukian: I think these ones are probably less flexible because any modification will, probably, land me with having to upgrade to real business class prices.

"Follow up airfare offered from Virgin after their great success of the VA RTW BUsiness class"

Previous was down to $3100 for business all the way. This is $5437 for half business.

So pay almost double, and get half of before… not really a good "follow up."

Curious.. does anyone under 40 still use a travel agent?

    • -1

I do, for complicated (multi leg) family trips, as it is much easier to work with an agent. I have had to track the cheapest options myself and forward them to the agent to do the booking though :-D
