  • The watch states $13.35 when I click on the link but when I proceed to checkout, it reverts to $20.70 :(

    • Just checked & I get the same, will mark it as expired.

    "Wake up! Time to BUY"

  • Got the email today saying it's shipped already. Let's see how long postage takes…

  • Naviforce 9044 is back in stock.

  • +1

    Thanks OP - ordered the Naviforce which will hopefully be a nice backup to the Megir

  • Bought one, thanks OP! Added it to the collection

    Where can I get this NATO for it? Looks awesome as a casual watch for the weekend!

  • Has anyone had theirs arrive yet?

    • +2

      Yeah the Naviforce arrived today (took 28 days from order), but i'm still waiting on the Megir.

      Seems much better built than i expected. It ticks, and there's a bit of orange on the end of the second hand which i highly approve.

      I'm starting to warm to the band though i'm not sure how long that will last. The band, not the warming.

      • How long now without buying a watch?

        • -1

          Sorry, update here.

          Tried to buy one 4 days ago but they cancelled on me.

        • +1

          @AngryChicken: Be strong. You can resist a bit longer. Perhaps I can too. Tour de France on SBS has been distracting me.

      The Megir has arrived.

      Not bad, though i like the Naviforce a lot more personally.

      The chronograph is a little different that i'd experienced. I've got an Eco-drive with chronograph function - there's no second hand. But on the Megir there's a second hand, and the chronograph function is entirely performed by the three subdials.

      BTW at first i thought it was faulty, but i think i've worked it out. The first rotates a full cycle every 2 seconds, the second every 60 seconds, and the third every hour. Once started, the first dial stops after 60 seconds, while the second and third go on their merry way. Then when you pause the first dial transitions to where it would have been if it had continued (at least i assume that's what's happening). When you stop, the first immediately returns to (about) zero, but the other fully reverse their activity, which can take a while. I find it rather comical…

      Naviforce works much more for me though - nice big dial and a flash of colour and the case looks much more higher quality. The Megir is polished steel (or at least it looks like that), while the Naviforce actually looks like a matte/unpolished aluminium.

      Thank @WatchNerd, all up these are great for the price.

      Thus ends my review.

      Now [12] days since i've bought a watch.

      • +2

        Useful review. 12 days? You are improving. My eBay "watch" list now has 2 pages.

        • +3

          I just took some shots.
          No doubt i've hit the next level for this particular condition.

          Under fluorescent lights …

          Naviforce (front), Naviforce (back).

          Megir (front), Megir (back).

          Note the pin for the Megir seems bent, but the other side is the same. I assume that's how the earth is meant to spin.

        • +1

          @AngryChicken: Each watch represents incredulous value for money. Both look good, but I have a small preference for the Naviforce. Perhaps the bent lugs are intended to bring the strap nearer to the bezel?

        • +2

          @AngryChicken: Thanks for the photos & review, I also like the Naviforce better. The stamping on the back looks more professional too.

  • +2

    Turned up today

    • Which one did you get? Do you like it?

      • +2

        The Megir. For $13 bucks it's actually a very nice watch.
        Given the two watches I'm looking at for my wedding "ring" and their eye watering price, it does make me question things haha!

        • +1

          I can't suppress the curiosity. Which 2 watches are they?

        • @PJC:

          lol Yeah fair enough.
          I really want the Rolex GMT master II BLNR but I'm trying to convince myself to go with the substantially cheaper Tudor Pelagos black.

        • +1

          @Jinx: Oh dear I've started drooling. If you are paying, the Tudor Pelagos has an impressive, slightly better dial design https://www.jomashop.com/tudor-watch-25600tb-blti.html unless you need a magnified date window. Nevertheless, how could I not admire the Batman Rolex? https://www.prestigetime.com/blog/batman-rolex.html

          @Jinx: Here is a good read to make your decision even harder - The Great Chinese Swiss Watch Paradox

        • +2

          @WatchNerd:

          Thanks and a good read. But I have to admit the Rolex is entirely a status/vanity thing and I'm ok admitting that haha

        • +1

          @WatchNerd:

          Yeah i'd read that too a week or so ago - think i originally saw the link on watchuseek.
          Actually helped me justify rolling with some of these cheap Chinese items, though i'd have to admit the size of my wallet also helps kick that along.

          I don't know if it's just me, but the date viewing bubble on some of the mid-range and higher watches doesn't really work for me…but hey, each to their own.

          And yes, the stamping on the back of the Naviforce is much more impressive than the Megir, and while i appreciate the face on the Megir the case looks a little cheap. The Naviforce really doesn't, at least not to my untrained eyes.

          Somewhere up there i said "looks a little cheap" in reference to a $10 watch. There's something not quite right about that…

        • @WatchNerd: It amuses me how this watch strives to be Italian despite the spelling error on its dial. http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Nicola-Valentino-Milano-Mens-Watc…

          @PJC @watchnerd @angrychicken:

          Actually since all you watch nerds are here, can someone suggest a cheapish mens dress watch with a dark brown leather strap. Like this https://www.danielwellington.com/au/dw-watch-men-classic-bri…

          Maybe we need to start a forum thread for all things watch and bargain related?

        • +2

          @Jinx:

          BTW that @ link didn't ping me - you need to link to a comment for that to operate.
          @WatchNerd
          @PJC

          I'm a mug punter, but the other guys mentioned are very much on top of things and may be able to help.

          Not sure this requires it's own forum thread. There is watchuseek out there. Posts here are pretty much driven by what is picked up by folk from various sources. Amazon seems to have dried up a little with Oz delivery…

        • +3

          @Jinx: How much is cheapish in your books?

          If you want to browse -
          I usually do a search on Aliepress & filter with orders - like this
          Best of Aliexpress

        • +2

          @Jinx:
          I took a different approach. I'm sure you would never consider $329 for that DW so I assume you are attracted by its minimalism. Since the term 'cheapish' can be relative I suggest you consider …
          http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Tissot-Mens-T109-610-16-031-00-Si…
          $158.06 - 5% code C5OZ = $150.15 + Postage $16.32 - $166.47
          Approximately half the price of that DW and two leagues above it in terms of quality. Finding a dark brown strap would be easy.

          Other possibilities …

          $65.74 - 5% code C5OZ = $62.45 + Postage $4.89 = $67.34

          @PJC:

          Went with the Tissot with 10% off making it $150 delivered. Now to find a nice leather strap and I think it will look quite nice.
          I'm quickly amassing a small collection of watches thanks to this site and you guys!

        • @Jinx: Great news! After attaching a new strap, come back with a photo of the combination!

          @Jinx: Your idea of cheapish is a bit different mine, lol.

          @PJC:

          Will do

          @WatchNerd:

          Cheap when compared to a Rolex!

          Watch arrived and I think it will look nice with matching shoes and suit. Thanks for the tip!
